888poker, the second largest online poker site, gets ready to bring their low buy-in 888live local events to Australia with a new festival set to run from Nov. 27-29.

The event will be the first one by 888poker to ever be held in Australia and will mark the launch of the Jackstar Live Local Series, a new series of live poker tournaments named after one of the room's most popular ambassador, Aussie poker pro Jackie Glazier.

"I am honored to be collaborating with 888poker on such an exciting event in my home country," Glazier said. "This tournament will be one of the highlights of 2015 and I can't wait to play at such a major event in the poker calendar."

According to a note the poker room sent to the media earlier this week, the plans for a second leg in Adelaide are already underway.

The Jackstar Live Local Series inaugural event will be held at the Poker SA poker room and will feature an AU$330 Main Event where the organizers believe the players will compete for a share of an expected AU$50,000 prize pool.

On the heels of the room's first-ever stop in Australia, the 888live circuit will then cross the Pacific Ocean and travel all the way to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, for an event to be held at the iconic Football Mineirão Stadium.

Running Dec. 10-15, the 888live Brazil will feature a R$490 (approx. $130) Main Event with a R$500,000 guarantee (approx. $130,000) that will see a mix of recreational players and pros like 888poker ambassadors Bruno Politano, Bruno Kawauti, and Nicolau Villa-Lobos in the field.

A $10,000 Freeroll To Celebrate the WSOP Main Event

A week before the start of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event final table, 888poker announced a deal with three of the nine finalists: Joseph McKeehen, Neil Blumenfield, and Thomas Cannuli.

With Blumenfield and McKeehen still in play during the last day of the final table, it seemed obvious to many that 888poker placed a winning bet. Especially seen how McKeehen played at the final table after literally dominating the Main Event.

"I'm very happy the final table went as smooth as it did," McKeehen said right after he won the tournament and took down the $7.7 million first prize. "The way the cards came out ,it didn't seem like I had too many tough decisions, and when I did, I generally made the right ones. It was definitely easier than facing adversity and battling. It was just my day for three days in a row."

To celebrate McKeehen's triumph, the poker room decided to give its players a free entry to a special to $10,000 WSOP Winner Celebration freeroll running on Nov. 13, at 20:05 GMT.

"As one of the most experienced players at the final table, Joe's tournament play has been tremendous from start to finish," the Senior Vice President & Head of B2C at 888 Holdings, Itai Pazner said. "Our team at 888poker knew working with him would be a great partnership and we're proud to have sponsored him in the in the 2015 World Series of Poker."
