888Live Local, the low-buy-in live tournament series by 888poker is getting ready for this season's grand finale, as the poker room announced a special end-of-the-year event to be held at the iconic Football Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Running Dec. 10-15, 2015, the first-ever 888live Brazil aims to bring to the country the same fun experience and beginner-friendly atmosphere that made the series one of the most successful events of the season in Europe.
Although the full official schedule has not been released yet, a representative from 888poker told PokerNews that the Brazilian leg of their live tournament series will be highlighted by a R$500,000 guarantee (approx. $130,000) main event that comes with a R$490 ($130) buy-in. This event will have three starting flights, with each capped at 500 players. The players will also get the chance to play in a number of side events including a high roller, a turbo deep stack, a second-chance event, and a last-chance tournament.
I look forward to meeting and competing against players from all around South America for a share of an amazing prize pool at this incredible location. — Bruno Politano
The event will not only be a chance for Brazil's vibrant poker community to get together for some premium poker action, but it will also give everyone the opportunity to meet and play with some acclaimed 888poker ambassadors, such as the first-ever Brazilian November Niner Bruno Politano. Also participating will be Bruno Kawauti and Nicolau Villa-Lobos.
"I'm thrilled to welcome 888live Local to Belo Horizonte and I am happy to be part of the most exciting poker festival in the world," Politano said. "I look forward to meeting and competing against players from all around South America for a share of an amazing prize pool at this incredible location."
Before moving to Brazil, the 888live local series will head to Milton Keynes, U.K., for their last event in Europe in 2015. The tournament, which is set to run from Nov. 13-15, will take place at the Casino MK and will feature a two-day £220 Main Event.
Players who reside in countries where 888poker legally operates can already try to win their seats to both events through online satellites with buy-ins starting from as little as $0.01.
