PokerNews is looking for a Senior Social Media Executive to join the team based in our Leeds office (UK).

Reporting to the Digital Media Manager, as Senior Social Media Executive, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our social media strategy to drive growth, engagement, and brand awareness across all current (and future) PokerNews social media channels.

You’re deeply entrenched in the poker community and embody Flutter’s “Passion for Players” core value. With your deep interest in poker, you can captivate, engage, and entertain poker lovers by turning the PokerNews social media channels into the one-stop-shop for all things poker. You have your finger on the pulse of the poker industry and are up-to-date with all the ins and outs.

Working alongside a team of creators, you’re primarily responsible for rolling out and executing the social media strategy across all PokerNews video and social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube. You are aware of the ever-changing social media landscape, understand the algorithms, and are always on the lookout for the next creative output to increase engagement and up the impressions.

Senior Social Media Executive - Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Media Manager on developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the overall marketing objectives.
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
  • Create, curate, and manage engaging and shareable content that resonates with our target audience, aligns with our brand voice, and drives meaningful interactions.
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, posting, and monitoring, to increase our (or our partner’s) brand visibility, engagement, and impressions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design and content creators, to produce high-quality visuals, graphics, and videos for social media channels.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive customer relationships and addressing inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Analyze social media metrics and insights to assess campaign performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and produce regular reports to demonstrate ROI.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms, adapting strategies as necessary to stay ahead of the curve.

You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other stakeholders. Ideally, you are already familiar with the poker industry niche. You’re able to use all forms of content distribution to appeal to consumer interests while maintaining brand consistency.

Role: Video Editor

PokerNews is looking for a Video Editor to join the team based in our Leeds office (UK).

Reporting to the Digital Media Manager, as Video Editor, you will be responsible for creating high-quality video content that engages our audience and enhances our brand presence in the poker industry. The ideal candidate should possess strong video production and editing skills, with a preferred background in the poker or gaming industry.

You will be assisting in writing, editing, and creating interactive media to promote PokerNews in innovative and engaging ways. You understand how platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, and Instagram work and are always up-to-date with the latest algorithm changes.

In addition, you’re willing travel to live events as a content creator to produce content that is time sensitive and released within a short time frame, as well as produce content that is evergreen to be released at a later date.

Video Editor - Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the content team to conceptualize, plan, shoot, and edit video content that aligns with PokerNews' brand and audience preferences.
  • Capture and edit compelling footage from various poker events, tournaments, interviews, and related content, delivering captivating and informative videos.
  • Utilize professional equipment and software to ensure high-quality video and audio production, while also maintaining a creative and engaging visual style.
  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, engaging, and shareable videos for various platforms, including social media, website, and YouTube.
  • Incorporate graphics, animations, and other visual elements to enhance video storytelling and communicate key information effectively.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to PokerNews' style guidelines and branding throughout all video content.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging video editing techniques to continuously improve video quality and production processes.
  • Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm and develop new video ideas, formats, and series that resonate with the poker community.
  • Manage and organize video assets, maintain a well-structured video library, and ensure proper archiving for easy retrieval.
  • Work closely with the team to meet production deadlines and contribute creative input to enhance the overall content strategy.
  • Occasionally attend live poker events to capture on-site video content and interviews as needed.

Who are we looking for

You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other stakeholders. Ideally, you are already familiar with the poker industry niche. You’re able to use all forms of content distribution to appeal to consumer interests while maintaining brand consistency. Being able to operate a camera with basic lighting and audio set up is a plus. Being willing to go on the road to a PokerNews event for a prolonged period of time, such as the World Series of Poker (lasting up to two months) is a plus.

As Office Support Executive, you will ensure efficient operation of our office and services and provide support to various areas of the business. This will include managing the day-to-day running of the office, carrying out administrative duties such as filing contracts and agreements, as well as acting as a point of contact for staff regarding enquires about using internal systems. You will also help to make travel arrangements and support the Senior Management team, HR operations and Finance teams as required.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. Office Support Executive - Key responsibilities

  • Overseeing general office operation, creating a positive working environment.
  • Answering phone calls, scheduling meetings, and supporting visitors.
  • Providing support to the finance and data teams.
  • Onboarding new suppliers and processing of invoices.
  • Working with the HR Business Partner to ensure key messages are delivered to staff.

We are looking for a well-organised individual with at least one year’s experience in a similar role, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Lithuanian. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel, and careful attention to detail are also required for this role.

The Ideal Candidate

Live reporters are compensated with a day rate on a per-event basis. You'll join a team that travels worldwide all year long to bring live updates to our readers. Additionally, PokerNews compensates live reporters for their travel time, accommodations, and living expenses throughout events.
