Role: PokerNews Social Content Creator
The PokerNews Digital Media team is seeking enthusiastic freelance content creators to join our live events crew. We travel internationally, providing fans with audiovisual coverage of the top poker events held at some of the most renowned venues. PokerNews serves as the exclusive live reporting partner at the World Series of Poker and is the official live reporting partner for PokerStars and the European Poker Tour, along with many other major tournaments across the globe.

The Ideal Candidate
- A passion for poker and it’s characters
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)

- Video editing experience
- Graphic Design experience
- Aware of the latest trends in Social Media
- 21 years of age or older
Responsibilities Include
- Create short form content of live poker events and series
- Handling the PokerNews social media accounts
- Conduct interviews with winners and other notable poker players on and off camera
- Available to travel to events around the world

Content Creators are compensated with a day rate on a per-event basis. You’ll join a team that travels to worldwide events (together, or sometimes as a one-man army) throughout the year to give an insight into what's going down on and off the felt.

Role: Video Editor (UK)
Reporting to the Digital Media Manager, as video editor, you will be responsible for creating high-quality long and short form video content that engages our audience and enhances our brand presence in the poker industry. The ideal candidate should possess strong video production and editing skills, with a preferred background in the poker or gaming industry.
You will be assisting in writing, editing, and creating interactive media to promote PokerNews in innovative and engaging ways. You understand how platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, and Instagram work and are always up-to-date with the latest algorithm changes.
Who we’re looking for
You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other stakeholders. Ideally, you are already familiar with the poker industry niche. You’re able to use all forms of content distribution to appeal to consumer interests while maintaining brand consistency.

Responsibilites Include
- Collaborate closely with the content team to conceptualize, plan, shoot, and edit video content that aligns with PokerNews' brand and audience preferences.
- Capture and edit compelling footage from various poker events, tournaments, interviews, and related content, delivering captivating and informative videos.
- Utilize professional equipment and software to ensure high-quality video and audio production, while also maintaining a creative and engaging visual style.
- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, engaging, and shareable videos for various platforms, including social media, website, and YouTube.
- Incorporate graphics, animations, and other visual elements to enhance video storytelling and communicate key information effectively.
- Ensure consistent adherence to PokerNews' style guidelines and branding throughout all video content.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging video editing techniques to continuously improve video quality and production processes.
- Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm and develop new video ideas, formats, and series that resonate with the poker community.
- Manage and organize video assets, maintain a well-structured video library, and ensure proper archiving for easy retrieval.
- Work closely with the team to meet production deadlines and contribute creative input to enhance the overall content strategy.
- Working with our localized talent to produce content to be shared across multiple verticals and in multiple languages.

We travel the globe to bring fans live coverage of the biggest events at the most prestigious poker venues around the world. PokerNews is the exclusive live reporting partner of the World Series of Poker, plus an official live reporting partner for PokerStars and many other events worldwide.

- Work directly with our editorial team to preview and recap events daily
- Conduct interviews with winners and other notable poker players
- Other opportunities to contribute editorial coverage to PokerNews
- Available to travel to events around the world

How To Get Involved
If you think joining the PokerNews live reporting team might be right for you, submit a writing sample that meets the following criteria:
Answer the prompt: “In your own words, recap your favorite moment in European Poker Tour history”.
Consider the following guidelines for your submission:
- No more than 500 words in length
- A short introduction with the main points covered
- Highlight the key players involved
- Give historical context to the moment
- A short conclusion
- Your writing sample should be submitted in Word or PDF format
- Include your name only. Other contact information is not necessary until later in the process, and we will respond via email
- Please do not submit a CV/resume until requested
