WATCH: Pliska, Negreanu Call MonteDam Swing 'Win-Win'

The WPT and PokerStars have joined forces for the PokerStars Championship WPT MonteDam Swing and Daniel Negreanu and Adam Pliska call it a “win-win.”

Negreanu and Pliska, the chief executive officer of the World Poker Tour, met up in Negreanu’s home to have a casual conversation about the upcoming tournaments.

“Once I heard about the news, I was super excited about it,” Negreanu said. “Obviously the World Poker Tour is what started it all, you know? And that’s where I made my name and obviously over the years, the game has grown globally and we have events in Europe and things like that, so it’s really cool to hear that we’re going to work together.”

Negreanu said this will incentivize players to come, which is better for the events and the organizers. Likewise, Pliska reminded players of WPT/PokerStars event prize packages and special leaderboard giveaways.

Negreanu was reminded of the California swing and said this is the European version. Bringing these companies together is better for the game, both reinforced.

“We’re now in a positon that we can make it convenient for players and since the PokerStars events are starting on the 25th and they will go through May 5, and then the WPT event will go the 5th through the 13th, we’re excited to have a swing that hopefully players will enjoy,” Pliska said.

  • Convenience is key and the MonteDam Swing is capitalizing on just that.
