US Online Sunday Briefing: WSOP Coast to Coast Classic Kicks Off

United States Online Poker Briefing

The inaugural Coast to Coast Classic kicked off on WSOP.com Nevada and WSOP.com New Jersey with a 32-event schedule and more than $1 million in guaranteed prizes, running May 11-20.

A handful of events were already in the books before Sunday's action of four big events.

The highlight of the festival is the Coast to Coast #30 - $200,001 Coast to Coast Main Event on May 20. This will be the largest record U.S. regulated prize pool guarantee.

Players that participate in at least three Coast to Coast tournaments will be awarded an entry into a freeroll that awards 20 seats into WSOP Event #10: The $365 Online Bracelet.

Outside of this festival, there were many other tournaments hosted in New Jersey with big guarantees as well at the partypoker, 888poker and PokerStars networks.

Here's a full look at the Sunday results at the American regulated online poker rooms partypoker NJ, BorgataPoker.com, PlayMGM, WSOP.com NJ, WSOP.com Nevada, 888poker NJ, and the three 888poker clients in Delaware:

The WSOP.com/888poker $15,000 Sunday Kick-off provided great valued for all that cashed with the 133 entrants, along with 101 rebuys and 71 add-ons not generating enough buy-ins to surpass the $15,000 guaranteed prize pool. A total of 25 players cashed in the event for a minimum of $180.

Taking the most advantage of the overlay was "Knightsofpok" who won the event for $4,125 after nearly six hours of play. Michael "y3nk0012" Yenko was able to notch his biggest score at WSOP.com after taking second place for $2,400.

Meanwhile, Brian "Deuxexmachen" Willis, who has more than $200,000 on U.S. regulated sites alone according to PocketFives.com, took fifth place for $915.

The WSOP.com/888poker $10,000 Weekly Sunday crushed its $10,000 posted guarantee after attracting 187 entrants (141 entries + 46 reentries) to generate a massive $17,017 prize pool.

A total of 25 players cashed the event for a minimum of $204. After nearly 4 1/2 hours of play, New Jersey's Sridhar "sri50k" Sangannagari shipped the tournament to bank the top prize of $4,404. Sangannagari is one of the most successful online tournament players currently grinding with nearly $500,000 in cashes at U.S. regulated online poker rooms alone and is ranked in 524th place in the world at PocketFives.com.

Matt "OMG_Obama" Iles took fourth place in the event for $1,208. Iles has more than $3.5 million in online tournament cashes of which nearly $400,000 came on U.S. regulated sites alone.

The WSOP.com/888poker $12,000 Weekly Sunday Deepstack was a resounding success with 261 entrants, along with 231 rebuys and 187 add-ons creating a huge $30,895 prize pool for more than 2 1/2 times the $12,000 guarantee. A total of 40 players cashed the event for at least the minimum cash of $170.

After more than eight hours of play, it was "BBoggs" defeating New Jersey's David "dehhhhh" Coleman in heads-up play to win the top prize of $8,033. Coleman collected a respectable $4,634 for his runner-up performance.

Other notable players at the final table were Daniel "yeayeaflush" Buzgon, who finished in sixth place for $1,432 and Krishna "ninjaGO" Kalisas snagging the eighth-place prize of $741.

The WSOP.com Coast 2 Coast #7 - $100,000 NLH - Sunday Special was the first of four Coast to Coast events to kick off on Sunday. The tournament smashed its $100,000 guarantee after attracting 502 entrants (334 entries + 168 reentries) to generate a $150,600 prize pool.

A total of 50 players cashed at least $693 with "Revanmalak" claiming the top prize of $38,403 after more than 10 hours of play.

Nevada's Jed "jchak" Hoffman was able to secure his largest online cash to date with a runner-up performance worth $21,837. Hoffman has amassed nearly $900,000 in online tournament cashes including more than $400,000 on WSOP.com alone.

The fast-paced tournament took just a hair over four hours to complete with 35 players cashing at least $141. Nevada's "vegaslife" led the way and took down the $5,354 top prize.

Just missing out on the win was New Jersey's Michael "HankdaTank" St. John, who is now inching near the $700,000 mark in career tournament cashes at U.S regulated online poker rooms. Also at the final table were New Jersey's Chris "billypoker" Bilinsky (third - $1,788) and Nevada's Mark "freezer" Johns (eighth - $485).

A total of 27 players cashed for a minimum of $360. After nearly eight hours of play, "Acesrkings" shipped the event for $8,920. This more than doubled the $4,415 this playerwon the week before when taking third place in this event.

Just missing out on shipping this event twice in three weeks was Vinny "brownmagic" Pahuja, who collected the runner-up prize of $5,440. On April 30, Pahuja bested a field of 201 entrants in this event to bank $8,040.

The PokerStars Sunday $45,000 Gtd is the second biggest weekly online poker tournament at American regulated online poker networks barring an online poker festival or a one-time special tournament.

This week, the tournament came $6,800 short of meeting its $45,000 guarantee with 216 entrants (128 entries + 88 reentries). A total of 27 players more than doubled their buy-in with a minimum cash of at least $450.

For a second time, "stuckndatrap" won the event for $9,675 after nearly 7 1/2 hours of play. This player shipped this event when it had a higher $50,000 guarantee on Dec. 4, 2016 for $10,225.

Keith "donnysack" Donovan added to his more than $1.9 million in online tournament cashes, almost half of which have come at U.S regulated online poker rooms, with a runner-up performance worth $6,975.

Also at the final table were Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken (third - $5,288) and Anthony "FlawlessBINK" Maio (fifth - $2,700).
