Every poker players wants to head into an online poker tournament series in good form to maximize their chances of coming away with a victory and a bankroll-boosting prize. Denmark's "dawoudski" did precisely that over the weekend, coming out on top in the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event for $10,602 at 888poker, with the $2.3 million guaranteed XL Spring Series less than a week away.
A field of 918 entrants in this weekend's Mystery Bounty Main Event meant an overlay of $8,200, but that did not affect the mystery bounty payments, with one weighing in at $10,000.
That chunky payout went to Ukraine's "TitovSerj" despite them falling in 141st position, the second ladder of the payout structure. Their bounty plus prize money meant "TitovSerj" walked away with the most prize money, namely $10,605.

The $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event's final table often explodes into life, and sees several players bust in the opening 20-minutes or so. This week's edition was different; it took 25 minutes for the first player to lose their stack; "mepaminondas" was that player.
"dawoudski" min-raised to 160,000 from middle position with six-four of spades, "mepaminondas" three-bet all-in for 526,152 with ace-ten from the cutoff, and the original raiser called. A six on the flop proved enough to send "mepaminondas" home in eighth.
It may have taken 25 minutes for the first finalist to bust but only another 40 minutes to reduce the player count to one.
"rekych.kg" looked down at ace-jack and moved all-in for 958,308 from the button during the 40,000/80,000/10,000a level. "dawoudski" called from the big blind with king-queen before flopping a full house to leave the at-risk player drawing almost dead. A brick on the turn locked up the hand for "dawoudski" and their Vietnamese opponent crashed out.
The final six became five on the half hour mark when Belarusia's "frostinho" bowed out., Again, it was "dawoudski" who did the damage, min-raising to 160,000 from the cutoff with ace-jack and calling the 1,384,502 shove from "frostinho" in the small blind. "frostinho" showed the dominated ace-nine, which was drawing dead on the flop courtesy of two jacks rearing their heads.
"dawoudski" added to their body count by sending Germany's "Ruesselkopf" to the rail in fifth. "Guess_Who" min-raised to 200,000 from the cutoff with pocket jacks, "dawoudski" three-bet to 425,000 from the button with king-seven, only for "Ruesselkopf" to jam all-in for 935,426 from the small blind with ace-jack. The original raiser folder their fish hooks, but the hot-running "dawoudski" called. Their gutsy play was rewarded with a king and a seven on the flop, which held to bust "Ruesselkopf."
Fourth place went to "shioni" on the very next hand it was, you guessed it, "dawoudski" who eliminated them. From the button, "dawoudski" open-shoved their colossal stack with king-eight, and "shioni" called off 16 big blinds with ace-six of diamonds. "shioni had the best hand preflop but an eight on the flop changed that. A six appeared on the turn but it was not enough for them to survive.
"PokerKron," who reached the final table of the $40,000 guaranteed Micro Rollers ChampionChips High Roller last month, fell in third after the deck smacked "dawoudski" in the kisser. "dawoudski" open-shoved from the small blind for 12 big blinds effective, and "PokerKron" called with king-nine, discovering they were nicely ahead of the chip leader's seven-four of clubs. Surely this would stop "dawoudski"'s bullying? Nope. "dawoudski" turned a straight and sent the tournament into the heads-up stage.
Starting the one-on-one battle with twice as many chips as "Guess_Who" and with the Lady Luck shining down on them, everything pointed to a "dawoudski" victory, which is what happened.
The final hand saw "Guess_Who" min-raise to 240,000 with eight-five of diamonds, and "dawoudski" defend their big blind with nine-seven.The flop fell eight-six-six, and you already know what happened, don't you? First, "dawoudski" check-raised a 168,300 continuation bet to 589,050, which "Guess_Who" called, leading to an offsuit three on the turn. "dawoudski" led for 662,025 and was called. The river was a straight-completing ten of diamonds, crowning "dawoudski" the champion of the $100,000 Mystery Bounty main Event.
