| Event 3 - $550 Limit 7C Stud/7C Stud Hi-Lo/Razz |
Jimmy Fricke
Tue Jan 08 2008
Winner of Event 3 - $550 Limit 7C Stud/7C Stud Hi-Lo/Razz
Jimmy "gobboboy" Fricke was the runner-up at last year's Aussie Millions main event championship after losing to Gus Hansen heads up. Although his victory tonight does not come close to his feat last year, this was pretty close.
With about three tables to go, Gobboboy emerged as the chipelader and began to distance himself from the rest of the pack. Once the final table began, he kept adding to his already big stack.
The feeling in the poker room was not one of "if" Gobboboy was going to win... rather "when" he was going to take it down. And exactly at 2am local time, he did just that.

Marlon Goonawardne
Fri Jan 11 2008
Winner of Event 6 - $1,650 Bounty Event (2-Day Event)
"I did this for all the $2-5 donks out there!" said Marlon Goonawardne as he posed for his winners photo, hoisting his winning A-Q aloft.
Goonawardne is a popular local player, who comes to the Crown Casino to play $2-5 NLHE nearly every day. It seemed like everyone in the casino wandered away from their tables to congratulate him and shake his hand after he won.
Goonawardne seized the chip lead on the second hand of play when he eliminated Kim Pearl and never had to look back. Despite some serious competition from 2006 WSOP Main Event 3rd place finisher Binger, Goonawardne never backed down and rode that big stack all the way to victory.
