Jan-Willem Kamps, from Holland, has only been playing poker for a year. Explains Jan-Willem; “Last summer I went to some friends [place], they were playing poker on the PC and I was interested immediately”. Currently working and studying psychiatric nursing, in his spare time Jan-Willem plays poker mostly online although has played live on occasion. Jan-Willem prefers to play No Limit Texas Holdem and Omaha Hi/Lo and plays exclusively in tournaments. Winning a $5000 PokerNews Cup Freeroll is the Dutchman’s biggest poker victory and he was certainly excited to have won. “It was 6am and I was indescribably happy”, remarks Jan-Willem, commenting on his win, “I think I woke the neighbours with all my yelling”. Although he had to work the next day, he was so excited he didn’t get tired. Apart from poker, Jan-Willem is a fan of soccer. This will be Jan-Willem’s first trip to Australia and we hope his excitement continues when he takes part in the 2007 PokerNews Cup Australia.
