Sheynin Takes Out Opponent

We caught the action on a flop reading {5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}, with the player in the small blind checking his option. The big-blind then bet out 2,200, but was met with a re-raise by Slav Sheynin to 5,800 in chips. The small-blind then instantly moved all-in for his remaining 14,200 which brought a fold from the original player.

“I have to call, sorry!” said Sheynin, as he tabled the {J-Spades}{4-Spades}.

He was behind to the flopped two-pair of his opponent holding {5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, but that all changed when the {9-Spades} came on the turn, completing his flush. The river fell the {6-Hearts} and it was all over for Sheynin’s opponent, who casually made his way from the table.

Green versus Cameron

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

The masses have built up in the poker room, with hundreds of boxing fans crowding the empty spaces around the poker tables, and even the PokerNews media desk as shown below, anticipating the title fight between Australia’s Danny Green and New Zealand’s Shane Cameron. Even the players at the tables seem distracted, with most turning their heads to a neighbouring TV to watch the beginning of the clash.

It’ll either be “Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!” Or a celebratory Haka!

Only time will tell.

Lynn Gilmartin doesn't look too impressed with the invasion.

Fitzgerald Goes Easy on Opponent

Action folded around to Angie Fitzgerald in middle-position who limped into the pot. The small blind called, and the big blind checked as the board fell {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The small blind took the initiative, and led out with a bet of 1,600. The big blind folded, and Fitzgerald called. The turn fell the {7-Hearts}, and this time the small blind checked. Fitzgerald casually picked up 3,100 in chips and threw them into the pot. The small blind called, and both checked when they saw the river show the {3-Hearts}.

Fitzgerald’s opponent tabled {6-Spades}{2-Clubs} for the straight, and Fitzgerald could only acknowledge the good hand, and folded her {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} face-up.

Even with that slight hit to her stack, Fitzgerald still leads the remaining players with just short of 100,000 in chips.

Big Stack Hunting

As we close in on the final break of the evening, we decided to walk around the room and try to spot the biggest stacks. Michael Guzzardi and Ivan Zalac both have 90,000 and share the chip lead. After dominating earlier on, Angie Fitzgerald’s stack has been halved, sitting just over 50,000 in chips.
