Gelberg Eliminated

Sherrie Gelberg, who started the tournament off very well, has just been eliminated. Gelberg explained to us how she was down to 10,000 chips in the big blind. There were two limpers and she opted to check her option with {Q-}{6-}.

The flop brought out {Q-}{3-}{4-}, and Gelberg check-raised all in. Unfortunately she ran into {Q-}{J-}, and her opponent's hand held up.

No More Colman

Julius Colman has been eliminated. We did not catch is elimination, but the floor supervisor told us he just busted out. Colman is best known for his fourth place finish in the 2007 Aussie Millions Main Event for A$500,000. Another big score will have to wait for the Melbournian.

Hachem Busts, Bain Takes The Lead

Joe Hachem has just been knocked out. We did not catch the action, but Tristan Bain was more than happy to tell us what went down.

On a {4-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop Hachem and Bain went at it. After a raising war Hachem shoved all in, and Bain called with {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Hachem showed {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and hit his flush on the {Q-Clubs} turn. It wasn't over yet, because Bain took the pot when the {4-Diamonds} gave him a full house.

Bain was the first player to reach 200,000, and while Hachem's no longer in the running for the first place prize of A$172,500 all eyes will be on Bain.
