Collopy Hands Some To O'Brien

The action was opened to 31,000 by Jason O'Brien on the button and the small blind got out of the way. Jim Collopy was in the big blind and he slid in large stack of 5,000-denomination chips. It was almost enough to put O'Brien all in and those are the word he would end up uttering. Collopy called for the extra few chips and the two players turned their hands over.

Collopy: {a-}{j-}
O'Brien: {a-}{k-}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Collopy took the hit to his stack as O'Brien sits with a very healthy stack.

One Out And Gone

Damien Walsh was looking pretty good to double-up and leave Laurene Hall crippled when held {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} against Hall's {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. It was all in preflop and by the time the board had ran out {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, it was looking like a pretty simple win for Walsh. It's not always like that in poker though, with the {10-Hearts} on the river giving Hall the miracle set on the river.

As Walsh made his way out the door in 22nd place, Stuart Bellard said, "I folded a ten, too"

Chip Up And A Win

Just after the 500-denomination chips were taken out of play (and 25,000-chips were added for those keeping score), Anthony Aston has shoved all in. Jim Collopy was the player who opened the pot from middle position and Aston shoved in the cutoff seat. No player wanted to rumble with Aston and he took down the handy little pot.

Bellard Doubles

Tobin Ryall opened the action from middle position and Stuart Bellard then jammed all in from the button. It was only a small portion more to Ryall and he opted to make the call.

Bellard: {q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Ryall: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop wasn't goof for Ryall and when the turn hit with a {4-Diamonds} and the river with a {a-Hearts}, Bellard took down the double and Ryall took a small hit to his stack.

Luke Goes Down

Alec Smith has had a good run at the tables today, seeing his stack up over 800,000 in chips. It's a different story for Luke Downs as he his the shortest stack in the room right now. A recent hand saw a board showing {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Smith betting out 55,000 into a large pot. Smith was in the tank, deciding what to do with his stack of a touch over 100,000. Eventually he folded and sent to pot to Smith.

Griffiths Doubles

Kristina Griffiths was recently struggling on a stack of under 100,000. That has all changed though as she managed to double-up holding {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} against the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of Tobin Ryall. It was all in preflop for Griffiths and when the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades}, her hand would hold up as the last lady standing sits with a healthy stack.
