During the break we chatted with Max Veenhuyzen and asked him how he had been doing at the table so far today.

He replied, "I have 8,000, but I'm value-folding my way to the money."

Max is not new to firsts, and perhaps being the first to implement a "value-folding" strategy will pay dividends! Although we think his t-shirt may be giving away a few too many tells to his online opponents!

In a battle of the blinds, Edward Sabat has emerged victorious. The pot was raised preflop by Sabat's opponent from the small blind and he called. The dealer burned and turned a board of {5-Hearts}

. Sabat's opponent led out for 1,100, and Sabat opted to call. On the turn {8-Hearts}

, Sabat's opponent led out for the rest of his stack. Sabat snap-called and tabled {8-Diamonds}

for a turned two pair. The small blind could only come up with {A-Spades}

for top pair, and did not improve with a river of {K-Diamonds}

. He is out, and Sabat is up to 30,000.

Pedley Doubles Opponent

A player in middle position moved all in for 2,000 and the action folded around to Michael Pedley in the big blind. "Do you want me to call?" asked Pedley and when he received no reply he decided to put his money in the middle with {A-Hearts}

. It was a good call as his opponent flipped over {Q-Clubs}

.

However the board landed {4-Diamonds}

and his opponent makes a full house to the disgust of Pedley.

"I didn't know what to tell you," said his opponent, "I'd rather you folded but it's fine now!"

Pedley is still in good shape with 37,000 chips.

Seabeast Claims Ma

When the action passed to Zhi Hong Ma in the small blind he open shoved for his last 3,000 with {K-?}

but Jay "Seabeast" Kinkade made the call with {A-?}

.

An ace on the flop was enough to end the day of Ma as "Seabeast" tries to get some momentum happening in this tournament as he is now up to 11,400.

Morgan Dominates Pedley

Ewan Morgan found himself with just 12 big blinds left in his stack. When he squeezed {A-Diamonds}

in the small blind after Michael Pedley had come in on the button, he shoved all in. Pedley made the call with a dominated hand, {A-Spades}

, and couldn't turn the tables on Morgan. The board ran out {J-Clubs}

to make two pair, jacks and sixes, for Morgan.

The loss didn't hurt Pedley too much. His stack still sits at over 32,000

Saab Spikes Set

From the big blind, David Saab came over the top of an opponent's opening raise for all of his chips holding {10-Spades}

but when his opponent called he wasn't happy to see {J-Spades}

That all changed when the board fell {3-Clubs}

to give Saab a set and a double up to 26,000.

Marcus Releases Under Pressure

With 1,800 chips in the pot preflop, action checked to Van Marcus on a flop of {5-Hearts}

. He bet 1,150. His lone opponent, sitting in the small blind, asked Marcus for a count.

"About 4,000 more," said Marcus. His opponent nodded, processed that information, and then moved all in for 13,000. Marcus considered his options for about thirty second before folding.

Someone Tell Chad Brown the Joker is on a Different Table

Chad Brown just chopped a pot with Michael Pedley. Almost 10,000 chips were in the middle, with the board showing {2-Clubs}

, but neither player could come up with anything other than the nut no-pair: {A-Clubs}

for Brown, {A-Spades}

for Pedley.

"But I have the ace of clubs!" said Brown as the dealer started chopping the pot. The dealer panicked for a moment, then laughed when he realized Brown was just teasing.
