Djingga Ships With Air and Gets Caught

We walked up to Steven Djingga's table with about 25,000 already in the pot. The betting was on the turn, with the board showing {2-Hearts}

. Djingga shipped it all in, about 75,000 worth of chips. Taneli Tiikkaja, his lone opponent, shrugged and called.

Tiikkaja:

Djingga had shipped with nothing but a gutshot draw and an overcard and got caught. He couldn't catch his miracle -- the river was the {6-Hearts}

After Djingga had left the table, some other players laughed and shook their heads, commenting on the benefits and detriments of shipping it all in on the turn with only a gutshot draw.

Tiikkaja didn't stay for the conversation. He headed to the rail for a smoke and some food with a friend, leaving a floor person to stack his 210,000 chips.

David Lee Goes Out with Aces

David Lee's APPT Macau Main Event has ended. He raised to 4,000 from under the gun before Tyler Cornell made it 12,000. With only 24,000 behind his initial bet, Lee sent it all in to the middle. Cornell quickly called in very rough shape: his {A-Diamonds}

was absolutely crushed by Lee's {A-Spades}

. Of course, the story doesn't end well for Lee. The flop came {K-Diamonds}

to bring a gutshot straight draw for Cornell. Cornell missed the turn {6-Hearts}

but hit the river {10-Diamonds}

to send Lee to the rail with a bad beat story of his own.

Cornell now has a shade over 100,000 chips.

Chip Leaders Stick Together

Chip leaders J Choi and Andre Wagner seemed content to avoid each other in the knowledge that they were the only real threat to each other's survival in this tournament.

In a recent pot we were hoping for some big fireworks, but both players checked down a board of {Q-Hearts}

. Choi's

out-kicked the {10-Hearts}

of Wagner to collect the small pot.

Both seemed relieved that their table just broke, and just as the floor staff joked about calling in a taxi to move all of their chips to the new table, they discovered they could split the fare as they were once again sent to the same table!

Somebody Nail These Players to Their Seats!

As we near the completion of the fourth level of play today, only 80 players remain. 128 players have gone out in the first four hours, making it seem inevitable that we will hit the money today.

Troy Perry is the latest casualty. He opened for 3,700 from middle position. Edward Sabat made it 12,000 to go from the button, bringing a call from Perry, who then shoved all in on the flop of {4-Diamonds}

. Sabat snap-called with {K-Hearts}

; he had to dodge Perry's up and down straight draw with {6-Spades}

. The turn and river bricked out {10-Hearts}

to send Perry to the rail.

"The rich get richer!" said Carter Gill as Sabat stacked up another pot. Sabat has about 170,000.

for top two pair to have his opponent drawing dead with {A-Hearts}

The river was a meaningless {10-Clubs}

giving Chiu the pot to jump to over 60,000.

Tahtouh Chips Down

and decided to gamble for his stack of 20,000. Tahtouh showed {K-Hearts}

and didn't improve on a board of {5-Diamonds}
