Nam Wins Confusing Pot

From the cutoff position, Tae Jun Noh raised to 20,000 and Hyoung Jin Nam made the call in the big blind.

The flop landed {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Nam led out for 40,000. Noh deliberated for a few moments before accidentally sliding out 60,000 chips. TD Danny McDonagh ruled that since there was no verbal declaration, that the bet would stand as a raise and he would have to make it 80,000 to go.

The action was back with Nam who now took the opportunity to re-raise, adding another 100,000 to the bet.

Noh sat back in his chair and said "wow" which McDonagh confused as "call", causing the crowd to jump to their feet in anticipation of a big clash. However after clarifying that Noh only said "wow", Noh quickly folded and a confusing hand was brought to an end with the moderately healthy pot shipped to Nam.

Updated Chip Counts

Here are the updated chip counts at the first break of the day:

Michael Chang - 707,000
Hyoung Jin Nam - 667,000
Tae Jun Noh - 544,000
Van Marcus - 365,000
Lee Nelson - 177,000
Ramil Tandoc - 172,000
Manish Sansi - 142,000

Raise It and Take It

The first three hands after the break were all won with a single preflop raise. On the fourth hand, Tae Jun Noh raised to 25,000 from the button. He did not win the pot, however. Lee Nelson reraised all in from the small blind. That was the winning bet when everyone else folded.

Manish Sansi Eliminated in 7th Place ($16,285)

Manish Sansi - 7th place
Manish Sansi - 7th place
Manish Sansi has been short for a while, tempting his fate with open-shoves that haven't been called. He open-shoved again, and this time local favorite Ramil Tandoc moved all in behind him. The partisan crowd was excited to see that Tandoc was in the lead.

Sansi: {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}
Tandoc: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

The flop came down {J-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {4-Spades}, bringing a roar of delight from the Filipinos in the crowd. TD Danny McDonagh reminded the gallery that yesterday, Van Marcus faced the same situation and made runner-runner quads to avoid a crippling blow to his stack. History would not repeat itself; the {2-Spades} on the turn made an unbeatable full house for Tandoc. When the {3-Clubs} hit the river, Sansi was officially eliminated in seventh place, winning $16,285 in the process.

Chang Extends Lead

Michael Chang raised it up to 25,000 from under the gun and Hyoung Jin Nam called out of the big blind

The flop came {2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and both players checked. The {4-Spades} hit the turn and Nam led out for 25,000. Chang made the call.

The river was the {J-Spades} and both players checked. Nam showed a four but Chang took the pot with {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a pair of aces.

No Action for Marcus

Van Marcus may need to start opening up his range. He raised to 30,000 from under the gun and got no action. As the dealer pushed Marcus the pot, he surrendered his cards face-up. They were two black aces.

That's the second time Marcus has been dealt aces today, and he got no action either time. He has otherwise been unusually quiet at this final table.

Small Pot For Noh

Tae Jun Noh raised to 22,000 from the button and Van Marcus made the call in the big blind.

The board of {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} was checked down by both players and Noh's {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} were good enough to take down the pot as Marcus mucked.
