Nelson Can't Crack Aces

Hyoungjin Nam and Lee Nelson went to war. Nelson had the worse hand, tabling {A-Spades} {K-Spades} preflop after all the chips were in. Nam had him crushed, tabling {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. The board ran out {6-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {J-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. As a result, the 130,000-chip pot went to Nam. Nelson still retains about 105,000 chips.

A few hands later, Nelson was at it again, getting all in with short stack Lou Pacia. Nelson held {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}, which was racing against Pacia's {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}. Pacia was the victor on a board of {7-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {9-Spades}, making a full house, tens full of sevens. He now has 65,000, and Nelson is down to roughly 75,000.

Players Reach the Money on Simultaneous Lin Eliminations

The money bubble has burst without having to go to hand-for-hand play. On the feature table, Celina Lin got all in with two pair but ran into an opponent's set. At the same time, in the main tournament area, Xiaogang Lin moved his short stack all in with {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs} and was called by Josh Pang Ang's {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}. The flop gave everyone a good sweat, coming {K-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {5-Spades}, but Lin couldn't find an eight or another club. The turn bricked {7-Spades} and the river bricked {6-Spades}.

There will now be a short break to re-draw new seating assignments.

Aquino Doubles With Aces

Rainier Aquino has just survived a big all in clash for his tournament life. After reraising preflop with {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}, Aquino committed his last 5,000 on a {8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} flop and was dismayed when Chang Yong Suk snap-called. However Suk would need to improve with his {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

The {K-Clubs} hit the turn and the {10-Spades} fell on the river, and Suk thought he'd won the pot when he made his straight however Aquino quickly pointed out he'd made a bigger straight to double up and stay alive!

Ang Finishes Off Phillips

Anthony Phillips was decimated after his recent encounter with Josh Pang Ang. When he looked down at {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}, he probably figured it was his best chance to double up and make the money. He and Ang took a raised flop of {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} {4-Hearts}. The rest of Phillips' chips went in, bringing a snap call from Ang, who improbably tabled {Q-Hearts} {3-Hearts}.

The turn {4-Clubs} gave Phillips a few more outs, but it wasn't meant to be. The river {3-Diamonds} sealed the deal, giving Ang quads and knocking Phillips out.

Nagashima Doubles With Flopped Straight

Tsutomu Nagashima moved all in on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Hyoungjin Nam sighed before saying "my hand is too big to fold" and making the call.

Nagashima flipped {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the straight but Nam had outs with {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for top pair and bigger straight draw.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} to give Nam even more outs but the {3-Hearts} hit the river to double up Nagashima to 50,000. Nam slips back to 85,000.

Priscilla Meirelles Eliminated

Miss Earth 2004 has retired to the rail. She wasn't able to get much going today, never chipping up above her starting stack. She finally pushed the last of her stack with {A-Spades} {8-Clubs} and was called by new chip leader Josh Pang Ang, who tabled {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}. Neither player hit the {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} board. As a result, Ang collected the pot and Meirelles was eliminated, just a few spots short of the money.
