Nathaniel Seet Doubles Up In Big Preflop Pot

Preflop was as good a time as any for Nathaniel Seet and his opponent to get all the chips in the middle.

Seet had the best of it with {A-Diamonds}

against the {A-Hearts}

of his opponent. It only got better with the {3-Diamonds}

flop, reducing the chance of being outdrawn dramatically.

Chris Lee is on a rampage at the moment. He looks set to become the first player over 100,000 in chips.

Most recently he found {k-?}

up against an all in opponent with {9-?}

. He was able to improve his hand to a set when a {k-?}

hit the turn.

That would be enough for him to claim yet another scalp.

Hall Can't Get Away

It was a five-way pot that each player paid 1,000 chips to enter before the flop. Action checked all the way to the river, {3-Diamonds}

. That's where the big blind finally opened the betting with a bet of 2,500. Tom Hall called from late position before the small blind check-raised to 8,500. The big blind released his hand, but Hall couldn't do the same. He sighed, shook his head, and then announced a call in a tone as if to say he knew he was beat. He was; his two pair {5-Clubs}

was second-best to the straight of the small blind, {A-Clubs}

Still Not Much Movement

We expected that things would really get going in Level 5, as players began to become more willing to push their stacks in the middle. That's hasn't been the case. Instead the pace of eliminations has remained steady and slow. Big pots are hard to come by.

A quick scan of the counts shows Chris Lee close to being the first Day 1b player across the six-figure threshold. At the other end of the counts are three of the PokerStars Team Asia Pros: Bryan Huang, Celina Lin and Jonathan Lin are all short stacks.

Tom Hall Taken Down

Tom Hall has made his exit from the poker room after Wei Sha eliminated him.

Hall had taken a couple of recent hits and found himself moving all in with {A-Spades}

and Sha made the call with {j-Diamonds}

.

The

flop left Sha well in control of the proceedings and the board finished {6-Diamonds}

turn and

river to make Sha a flush and eliminate Hall.

Spot of Action a Setback for Geshkenbein

Vladimir Geshkenbein decided to go for the squeeze. He saw David Hilton open for 1,500 and two players behind Hilton call. When it got to Geshkenbein, he re-raised to 45,000. Geshkenbein smelled something fishy and called all in for 23,500 with {9-Diamonds}

. Nobody else called, leaving Geshkenbein (holding {10-Hearts}

) with the opportunity to eliminate Hilton. It wasn't to be. Hilton doubled up with a full house, {K-Clubs}

With two different events running simultaneously, cash game tables are hard to come by. There are players waiting on the rail to get into cash games but they can't because there's no way to open up a new cash game table without the required table space or dealer.

Ney Gonçalves Eliminated

Preflop, Tommy Le made it 1,700 to go from the button and Phillip Willcocks three-bet out of the small blind. Action was then on Ney Gonçalves who made it 9,500 from the big blind. Le got out of the way and Willcocks made the call to take the {6-Clubs}

flop.

On the flop all of Gonçalves' chips went in, with him holding {9-Hearts}

against Willcocks' {6-Diamonds}

The

on the turn failed to improve Gonçalves, and the river {6-Spades}

added insult to injury, by making Willcocks quads.
