Grigg Takes One from Benton

Aaron Benton opened with a raise to 60,000 from the button before the action fell to Tom Grigg in the small blind who played back, kicking it up to 160,000. Ernst Hermans folded his big blind sending the action back to Benton who made the call.

The flop then came {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Grigg passed the first option to Benton who fired a 250,000 bet, saying, "No shame in folding, but if you've got it, come."

Grigg made the call, ignoring Benton's banter and both bothers proceeded to check down the rest of the board, which filled out {9-Hearts}, {7-Hearts}.

At the showdown, Benton tabled {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} which was bested by Grigg's kicker -- {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

After the hand, Grigg stacked up 1.41 million in chips and Benton fell to 1,245,000.

Carlson Chipping Up

Wayne Carlson is up to 1.3 million early on, partially due to a recent hand he played against Tom Grigg and Thomas Slifka.

Slifka opened the pot with a raise to 60,000 which was called by both Carlson and Grigg. The flop then came down {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and action checked around to Carlson who led out with a 100,000 bet. Grigg made the call but Slifka chose to drop out.

The {10-Clubs} fell on the turn and Grigg checked dark to Carlson who double-barrled a 200,000 bet prompting Grigg to lay down his hand.

After the hand, we counted Grigg at 1,080,000 in chips.

Benton Slips; Hermans Climbs to 2.4 Million

Aaron Benton opened with a raise to 55,000 from middle position and when the action reached Ernst Hermans, he kicked it up another notch to 155,000. Benton made the call and the two saw the flop come {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

A pair of checks brought the action to the turn -- {7-Diamonds}. Here, Benton led out with a 225,000 bet and Hermans called.

5th Street delivered the the {4-Hearts} and Benton fired again, this time making it 325,000 to play. Hermans made the call and Benton mucked straight away.

Before raking in the pot, Hermans asked Tom Grigg if he should should Benton his hand. Grigg reminded Hermans it was his choice to show if he wanted to, so Hermans did indeed reveal his cards: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Benton dropped to 1.6 million after the hand.

Slifka Doubles Through Boxell

Leo Boxell raised to 74,000 from under the gun and Thomas Slifka reraised to 174,000 from the button. Andrew Hiscox tanked and then made the call. Boxell also called.

The flop came down {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Hiscox checked. Boxell fired 200,000 before Slifka raised all in for 470,000 total. Hiscox folded and then Boxell went into the tank.

Eventually, he made the call with {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}. Slifka held {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and the river the {3-Hearts}, eanring Slifka the double up. Boxell is down to 750,000 and Slifka jumped to 1.55 million.

Benton Now Leading

From the hijack seat, Aaron Benton limped in and Tom Grigg then raised to 74,000 from the cutoff. Ernst Hermans called on the button and Benton also called.

The flop came down {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {4-Diamonds}. Benton checked and Grigg fired 124,000. Hermans folded, but Benton quickly made the call.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Benton checked. Grigg fired 224,000 and Benton called.

The river was the {J-Spades} and Benton led for 200,000. Grigg folded and Benton scooped the pot. He's now our new chip leader with 2.5 million.

Forrester Making Another Fold

From the button, Barry Forrester limped in after action folded to him. Aaron benton was in the small blind and raised to 124,000. Tom Grigg, in the big blind, folded and then Forrester folded as well. He showed the {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} and had let it go.

This is the third hand in a row Forrester that Forrester has gotten involved in, but backed down from.

Boxell Throws a Punch

Leo Boxell raised from the small blind to 74,000 after action folded around to him. Barry Forrester called out of the big blind and the two players went to a flop.

The first three cards on the board were the {A-Hearts} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. Boxell fired 105,000 and won the pot. He showed an ace after Forrester folded.
