Vos Fighting Back

Mark Vos
Mark Vos
Mark Vos started the action, opening from the button. Both blinds called and the players saw a {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and both blinds checked to Vos who elected to fire out about 4,000 into the pot. The small blind was the only caller.

The turn brought the the {6-Clubs} and the small blind led out for 8,000 prompting Vos to put down PokerNews Magazine, which he was reading and study the situation. Vos counted out the call, tossing eight red chips into the middle.

The river was the {q-Diamonds} and the small blind checked to Vos who coyly bet 4,000 into the 25,000 pot. The small blind called, and Vos showed down his {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, good enough to win the pot. Vos had about 60,000 after the hand.

"Beautiful!"

Sam Youssef checked the flop of {A-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} to his opponent, who fired 10,000. Youssef check his cards and then tossed in the call after about a minute of thought.

The turn brought the {A-Clubs} and Youssef checked again. His opponent moved all in almost immediately.

"What? You're all in? Beautiful! I call!" said Youssef as he rolled over a full house holding {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades}. His opponent pushed his stack forward and then his cards face down, signaling he was drawing dead. He then got up and left the table.

The dealer flipped over the player's hand to reveal {10-Clubs} {5-Hearts} and dealt the {9-Spades} on the river. Youssef now has nearly 260,000 chips.

"Bond18" With a Possible Royale?

Tony "Bond18" Dunst
Tony "Bond18" Dunst
With three players in the hand, and a {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop, a player in the small blind bet 3,000, Tony "Bond18" Dunst made the call, and the third opponent folded.

When the {4-Clubs} hit the turn, the small blind check-called a 9,000 bet from Dunst.

The {q-Spades} fell on the river, filling every conceivable draw, including the ever-elusive Royal Flush, and once again the small blind checked to Dunst. "Bond18" fired out a bet of 21,000 and after some deliberation, the small blind folded, flipping over the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} stating, "All I can beat is a bluff."

After the hand, Dunst has about 130,000.

Benton moved in for 32,000 and Peer called. Benton held {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} and Peer held {J-Spades} {10-Spades}.

Steicke Desacralized

Yes, kids... the halo is real.
Yes, kids... the halo is real.
We've got bad news for David Steicke fans around the world; your hero has been slain.

After having chipped up to as high as 125,000 earlier in the day, Steicke was knocked down to 8,000 in chips before suffering the fatal blow at the hands of William Busine.

In the hand that crippled Steicke, he opened for a raise from middle position holding {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and small blind Stephen Chan moved all in over the top for 12,000. Steicke made the call and found himself up against Chan's Big Slick, which held solid when the board filled out {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

Left with just 8,000 after that pot, Steicke chipped up to 9,900 before moving all in from under-the-gun holding {K-?}{10-?}. Busine made the call with pocket threes and the two were off to the races.

The board had filled out {8-?}{10-?}{2-?}{K-?} by the turn, giving Steicke two pair, but Busine managed to spike a three on the river for a set to send Steicke to the rail.
