Charles Lam moved all in for his last 60,000 before Tom Rafferty moved all in over the top for all of his 200,000 chips. The rest of the table folded around and the cards were tabled.
Lam:
Rafferty:
Rafferty threw his arms in the air in disgust at the flop which gave Lam the three-outer pair to take the lead. The turn was the and river the and Lam survives to progress to 120,000, as Rafferty slouches back into his chair with just 140,000.
We imagine Brandon Demes was just making a move on Richard En in a blind-on-blind battle. They quickly got the chips in the middle with En tabling lovely ladies, . Demes had a live ace, . The table gave a collective "Awwwww," for En when the flop came a full house for Demes, . It left En looking for running queens that he never found. He's out of the tournament in 28th place.
Dbinder Singh is in danger of crashing out of this tournament. His stack has dipped to just 70,000 after losing a flip to Tom Rafferty. Rafferty's pocket eights held up against Singh's to give Rafferty a double up from 149,500 to about 320,000.
Tom Rafferty opened with a preflop raise and Darkhan Botabaye and Charles Lam called in the blinds.
The flop fell and Botabaye checked to Lam who moved all in. Rafferty moved all in over the top, but Botabaye had them both covered and he quickly called.
Botabaye flipped , Lam showed while the dealer was happy to burn and turn the and river without Rafferty revealing his cards. The whole pot was sent to Botabaye as he eliminates two players in the one pot to jump to a huge chip lead with around 900,000 chips.
Daoxing Chen really liked the flop he took heads up with Kristoffer Myhre. After Myhre opened for 33,000, Chen raised to 90,000. It was a big decision for Myhre, who had only about 100,000 behind his original raise. He elected to put all those chips in the middle, with Chen quickly calling.
Myhre:
Chen:
Chen had flopped the smallest overpair along with an up-and-down straight draw. That was well ahead of Myhre's unimproved ace-queen. There was no Myhre-cle; the board safely blanked and to give Chen the pot and to eliminate Myhre in 24th place.
After all of his heroics earlier in the day, in the end Andrew Scott found himself in a flip situation, as most tournament poker players do. His was up against Dbinder Singh's . By the turn both players were in for a good sweat, with the board showing . Scott could win with any ace, king or heart. He got none of those cards. The river was the , ending Scott's tournament run in 23rd place.
Brandon Demes had taken another flesh wound after doubling up Remy Bakke. The chips went in on the river on a board of with Demes tabling for a straight but Bakke flipped for a bigger straight to rake in the monster pot.
As you can tell, it's been a busy ten minutes. Over at the third table, Tom Hall opened to 25,000. Action passed to Manila legend Wally Sombero. He moved all in for about 100,000 only to see Stefan Hjorthall move all in behind him. Once Hall obliged with a fold, Sombero stood up to channel all of the run-good he could muster.
Sombero:
Hjorthall:
The flop brought lots of excitement, . It gave Sombero an up-and-down straight draw to go along with his draw at a pair of sevens. But alas for Sombero, he missed the turn and the river. Off to that payout table he went in 22nd place.
