With three days of tough Day 1 action in the bag, it’s time for Day 2 to finally kick off at the 2011 PokerStars.net APPT Queenstown Main Event!
The 127 player field has been reduced to the 71 players hitting the felt today, with each vying for a piece of the NZD$342,900 prizepool and each with their eyes on the victory and the NZD$94,300 to go along with it.

After her dominating day at the tables yesterday, it will be local Alicia Sale who starts Day 2 as the chipleader, sitting behind a monster 91,750-chip stack. Sale heads the five local players who lead the chipleader board, with New Zealand well represented in the chip counts.
Young Australian players Jonathan Karamalikis, Andrew Hinrichsen and Tom Grigg will start today with plenty of chips, while Octavian Voegele and Marcel Schreiner top the international contingent of players who remain in contention.

With 71 players returning for play today there will be 7 tables at the start of the day, with five of those situated here in the Summit Room and two out on the other side of Sky City Casino, right in the midst of the main gaming room floor.
There will be six levels played today before we pack in shop, with blinds kicking off at 300/600 with a 50-chip ante.
Where Everyone Is

The chipleader Alicia Sale will be strating today's proceedings on Table 1, sitting with fellow big stacks, Marcel Schreiner and Matty Yates.
Table 2 is looking like being on of the most action filled tables of the day with Jackson Zheng , Jesse Mckenzie, Koray Turker and Danny Chevalier all sitting within a few seats of each other.
Table 6 is nothing to sneeze at, with Luke Edwards, PokerStars Team Online Pro Dale Philip, Ryan Mckay, Brad Bower, Hugh Cohen and Octavian Voegele.
Mac On The Double
Jesse 'On The Mac' McKenzie started the day as one of the short stacks but has already managed to find that much needed double-up.
The action was folded to McKenzie on the button and he shoved his stack all-in. AJ Bertenshaw was in the big blind and he made the call.

McKenzie would need some help and it would be the ace in the window of a board showing 
that would allow McKenzie to take the double-up and survive with a much healthier chip-stack.

Wang Wounded
Play was started when Martin Cardno raised to 1,600 from middle position. Jackie Wang made the call from the button and Kyle James called from the small blind.
Flop: 
James would check the action to Cardno who c-bet with 2,100. Wang made the call before James would put in the check-raise to 6,000. With Cardno snap-folding the play would be back on Wang and he would move his remaining 26,000 into the middle. James made the call and watched as Wang turned over 
, while James' 
would be well ahead.
When the turn and river bricked the pot would be sent to James as he now sits with a crippled stack.

Bower Busto
Action was started by Octavian Voegele who opened the pot to 1,300 from middle position. Dale Philip made the call from the cutoff seat, at which point Brad 'BaZa88' Bower moved his short-stack in the middle from the small blind. Voegele got out of the way and when action was back on Philip he made the call.

Bower would need help and it was looking good when the flop contained the much needed . The turn was safe but when the devestating was dealt on the river it was all over for Bower.

Grigg Grinning
On the outer tables at the other end of the casino there has been a slew of bust-outs in the first few minutes of play and it is Tom Grigg who is fairing the best after all the action .
We caught the action with a flop showing 
and Grigg leading out from the big blind position for 3,850. Joel Dauglin then made the call from under the gun and Jeff Bucher then announced he was all-in from the button. Without too much hesitation, Grigg then announced he was also all-in. If this wasn't an action packed hand yet, it was about to be as Douaglin then also announced he was all-in.
Bucher tabled 
for top-pair but would be crushed by Douaglin who turned over 
for top-top. Grigg would need an even better hand if he was going to take down the big pot and when he turned over 
for flopped-set it was looking good for Grigg to become today's new chipleader.
The turn and river bircked out and Grigg said with a smile, "Nice start."
