2013 PokerStars.net APPT Macau ACOP Main Event Day 3: Show Me the Money

Welcome back to the 2013 PokerStars.net Asia-Pacific Poker Tour Macau Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) HK$100,000 Main Event. What began with 203 players earlier this week is down to the final 72 players, 25 of which will make the money. There’s a good chance the tournament reaches that point here on Day 3.

The man best positioned to run deep here at the PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams is Kevin Schulz, who finished as the chip leader last night with 311,600. Schulz vaulted into the chip lead in the last level of the night thanks to two hands. In the first, he flopped a set of deuces to win a massive pot worth more than 200,000. Then, about ten minutes later, he flopped another set of deuces to eliminate 2011 World Series of Poker Player of the Year Ben Lamb.

While his sizable chip advantage gives him a good chance of making the money, Schulz will have some tough competition to contend with including Jonathan Depa (254,200), Tore Lukashaugen (157,600), Day 1 chip leader Keith Ferrera (122,800), David Ewing (100,600), Keith Gipson (78,500), Jan Bendik (78,300), Tom "hitthehole" Middleton (45,100), Mervin Chan (37,300), and Michael Tureniec (22,300). In addition, Eugene Katchalov, Randy Lew and Naoya Kihara of Team PokerStars will return to action.

Cards will be back in the air at 3 p.m. local. The PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to bring you live updates from PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams. Stay tuned for those, but in the meantime check out Sarah Grant’s entertaining interview with Kitty Kuo (who fell late on Day 2):
