Five More Faces
There are currently 10 tables set up here on Day 1a of the APPT Melbourne Main Event. That means the current field is under 100 players. This may be due to the fact there was a $1,650 NLHE Six-Max event beginning today. We still expect quite a few late entries and a hefty field for tomorrow's Day 1 action.
In addition to the notable names we have already mentioned, there are a few more very familiar faces amongst the tables.
First we have Australian Poker Hall of Fame member Gary Benson. A career spanning decades has seen Benson amass well over $1 million in tournament winnings, which includes victory in an Aussie Millions event earlier this year.
Then we have Joe Cabret, a Crown Poker local who finished 2nd for a cool $1 million in this year's Aussie Millions Main Event.
Jarred Graham is also at the tables. Graham is back in his home town after winning a gold bracelet in a $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo event at this year's World Series of Poker.
Prominent Aussie Grant Levy is also at the tables. Levy is no stranger to the Asia Pacific Poker Tour, winning APPT Sydney back in 2007 to claim Australia's first seven-figure poker tournament score. Levy also happens to have a very lengthy poker resume which sees him sit in the top 10 all-time Australian money earners.
Also at the felt is Andrew Hinrichsen. Back in 2011 Hinrichsen won a World Series of Poker Europe event, becoming one of only a handful of Aussies to call themselves a gold bracelet winner.
