Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang has recently been spotted on the rail. He filled us in on some details of his elimination. Apparently Huang "made a questionable call" on a board and was then short and shoved from the cut-off and ran into in the big blind.
The players have just been reminded that levels will last 75 minutes today as apposed to 60 minutes on Day 1. They have also been told that there will be a 10-minute break at the end of every two hours (or each level and a half), in addition to a 45-minute dinner break at 6.15pm this evening.
Piyush Gupta won the bounties side event here at the 2013 APPT Melbourne, but must have used up all his run good there after getting very unlucky here in the Main Event.
We didn’t catch the hand, but Gupta let us know that it started with him opening to 2,200 from middle position. Current ANZ Player of the Year leader Iori Yogo three-bet to 6,500 from the button and Gupta four-bet to 11,800. Yogo then moved all in and Gupta made the call, putting himself at risk.
Gupta held against the of Yogo and would have been comfortable at doubling up. The gave both players a set and Gupta was still looking good. Then a hit the turn and with no help on the river, it was all over for Gupta.
We arrived at the table just as 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem announced all in. The bet totalled just short of 14,000 and he watched as the action folded around to Matthew Wakeman on the big blind. He quickly made the call before both players tabled their cards.

Wakeman:
Hachem was unable to improve as the board ran out to see him eliminated from the tournament.
Ricky Kroesen has just let us know about how he doubled up early here on Day 2 of the APPT Melbourne Main Event. Apparently Kroesen held against and got it all in on a flop showing with two clubs. The turn was a , but the river brought about a handy for Kroesen, giving him the straight and enough to double up.
The 2012 APPT Queenstown champion Dave Allan has lost a big portion of his stack early here on Day 2. We recently watched Allan and Sarkiss Osalian both commit 6,000 each on a flop showing . On the turn, Osalian tried to bet 11,000, but being that he was on the button, this bet was out of turn. As per the rules, the bet stood and the action on Allan. Eventually Allan simply opted to fold and the pot went to Osalian.
The hand started with Christopher Green opening to 2,200 from under the gun plus one. Dejan Boskovic was seated to his left, and raised it up to 4,800. Jason Gray made the call from the button as well as Green before the three saw the flop come down .
Green checked his option before Boskovic threw out a continuation bet of 6,800. Gray mucked instantly as Green went into the tank. After a minute he threw out a raise to 14,000 which was called moments later.
Both happily checked the on the turn before the completed the board. Another check from Green prompted Boskovic to bet out another 14,800 which was called.
Boskovic turned over his for a full house which saw Green tap the table, as his cards flew into the muck.
