Ward Shoots Out of the Blocks

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Thomas Ward has quickly overtaken the chip lead with a series of raises, forcing Zhou Zhou to fold almost every time. Examples:

He raised to 130,000 before Zhou three-bet to 390,000. Ward fout-bet all in and Zhou folded.

He limped on the button before Zhou raised to 200,000. Ward reraised to 530,000 and Zhou folded.

Ward took the same line two hands later and had the same result.

The next hand, Zhou raised his button but folded to a Ward three-bet.

Three in a Row for Ward

Level 29 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Thomas Ward is off to a great start in the heads up portion of the ACOP Main Event.

Zhou Zhou raised preflop to 130,000 and Ward three-bet to 400,000. Zhou folded.

On the next hand, Ward bet 80,000 on a {2-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Spades} board, after both players limped preflop and checked the flop.

The biggest of the three pots happened when Ward called Zhou's preflop raise of 130,000. The flop came {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Ward checked. Zhou bet 150,000 and Ward completed the check-raise by making it 425,000 to go. Zhou called.

Ward led out for 550,000 when the {6-Hearts} hit the turn and Zhou wasted little time before folding.

Zhou Catches Ward's Bluff

Level 30 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

In the few hands after the break, Zhou Zhou has been hard to get chips off of and seems to be growing his lead. On this hand, he check-called three streets against Thomas Ward to take down the biggest pot so far in heads up play.

Ward limped the button and Zhou checked his option. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Zhou checked to Ward. Ward bet 120,000 and Zhou called.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and Zhou checked again. Ward bet 260,000 and Zhou called.

The river was more of the same, Zhou saw the {8-Clubs} hit the river and roughly about 10 seconds after tapped his left fist on the table. Ward bet again, just like the previous streets and this time Ward put out a bet of 620,000.

Zhou took a moment to call, but only because he was busy counting out the chips to call and once he was done, he slid them into the middle.

Ward showed {3-Spades}{5-Spades} for a busted straight draw and an apparent bluff. Zhou showed top pair with {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and won the pot.
