Shaykhov Pulls in a Pot with Snowmen

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Sparrow Cheung opened to 35,000 from the hijack, Irshat Shaykhov called in the small blind and Celina Lin defended her big blind. The dealer spread out {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades} on the flop and all three players checked to the {6-Hearts} on the turn.

Action checked to Lin, she bet 55,000, Cheung folded and Shaykhov called. A {j-Diamonds} came down on the river, both players checked and Shaykhov tabled {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights. Lin mucked, sending the pot to Shaykhov.

Wu and Obara In the Lead

Level 11 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Xiaqing Ji
Xiaqing Ji

Yake Wu had already been a big stack with around one million in chips and he sent Guoliang Wei to the rail in a four-bet pot. Wu had three-bet and called the four-bet to see a {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. Wei bet and called the shove of Wu with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} for the overpair, he faced the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of Wu.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, Wu immediately filled up to a flush and needed to dodge another club, which he did with the {9-Hearts} river.

Fireworks also took place one table over. Xiaqing Ji had jammed for 141,000 and Norihiro Otani did so from the cutoff. Jun Obara on the button reshoved for even more than that and Otani immediately knew he was in bad shape. Ji was the shortest stack of the trip and had to crack not one but two pocket pairs to remain in contention.

Xiaqing Ji: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}
Norihiro Otani: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Jun Obara: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The board came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Ji indeed improved to a flush on the river to triple up.

Heung Finds a Dime to Send Jin Home

Level 11 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Tian Jin moved all in for 218,000 on the button, Wayne Heung called from the big blind and the players turned over their hands.

Tian Jin: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Wayne Heung: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came down {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Jin took a commanding lead in the pot with her pair of aces. A {9-Spades} fell on the turn and Jin was still ahead with her pair of bullets.

The dealer flipped over a devastating card for Jin on the river when the {10-Spades} landed on the felt, giving Heung a set of tens and eliminating her from the tournament.

Yotsushika Eliminated by Lew

Kazuhiko Yotsushika
Kazuhiko Yotsushika

Randy Lew opened to 25,000 and Michael Soyza called out of the small blind. Kazuhiko Yotsushika got his last 36,000 in from the big blind and both opponents called. Soyza checked the {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and a bet of 26,000 by Lew isolated successfully.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika: {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Randy Lew: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

Yotsushika had some outs, but the {3-Clubs} turn and {k-Diamonds} river runout sealed his fate.

Hyung Busts to Quads

Tao Fan raised to 23,000 and the small blind pushed for 17 big blinds. Sparrow Cheung called from the big blind and Fan released his cards into the muck. The small blind turned over {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Cheung was miles ahead with the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Nothing changed on the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts} board and Cheung added to his growing tower of chips.

Right after, Pete Chen was eliminated. He had lost the vast majority of his stack with tens against the aces of Lei Yu, who finished the job for the last four big blinds when Chen jammed out of the small blind and into his big blind.

Chen had two live cards with {10-Spades}{6-Spades} versus {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} but found no help on a {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts} board.

Fast forward a few minutes and Steve Hyung jammed for the last 15 big blinds and Yu called on the button.

Steve Hyung: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Lei Yu: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop immediately left Hyung drawing dead as Yu made quads, which left the {10-Clubs} turn and {q-Spades} river as a mere formality.

Chen Doubles Through Yotsushika

Level 10 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Dong Chen

The board was reading {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and the pot had around 180,000 in it. Dong Chen checked to Kazuhiko Yotsushika who moved all in for 195,000 and Chen snap-called.

Yotsushika tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for two pair and Chen showed {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for a turned flush, scooping in the pot for a full double through Yotsushika.

Yotsushika would find a double with pocket nines just two hands later against Randy Lew.
