Hiroshi Irimajiri defended against a raise by Christopher Mateo and check-called the Q♦4♣2♠ flop for 125,000. He checked the 9♥ turn and Mateo's bet of 380,000 won the pot.

Soon after, Mateo was in the small blind and tangled with Junya Kubo. He checked the 9♥9♠5♣A♠J♥ river and tank-folded to a bet, exposing an ace. Kubo returned the favour and flashed his 6♦6♥.

Sasahara Folds Twice to Mariano

Riku Sasahara raised to 125,000 on the button and then faced a three-bet to 500,000 by Archie Mariano in the small blind. The initial raiser called but folded the 9♣6♠4♥ flop when Mariano continued for 475,000.

Sasahara raised to 125,000 in the next hand but folded when Mariano made it 500,000 once more.

Ward Doubles Through "BIGTIME"

Thomas Ward had previously chipped up to more than one and a half million in chips. He then faced a raise by Junya Kubo to 120,000 from under the gun. Christopher "BIGTIME" Mateo three-bet to 340,000 from one seat over and Ward four-bet jammed for 1,580,000 in the small blind.

Kubo folded and Mateo only took a few seconds before he said "gamble" and pushed forward a stack for the call.

"Ace king?" Mateo inquired but Ward had a pair and dominating lead preflop.

Chong Takes Small Pot Off Mateo

Christopher Mateo raised to 130,000 and earned calls from Alex Chong as well as Thomas Ward out of the blinds. On a flop of K♣Q♣7♦, Chong was the only one to check-call a bet of 250,000 by Mateo.

Both then checked the 4♣ turn and Chong bet the 6♠ river for 250,000. Mateo prepared calling chips and rifled them while pondering about his decision. He ultimately folded and showed the K♠. Chong exposed his K♥Q♥ and both players bumped fists.

Chong Loses Two Significant Pots

With a bet and call worth 500,000 already pulled into the middle prior to the Q♥8♠6♣J♥J♠ river, Christopher Mateo bet 700,000. Alex Chong swiftly called after some ten seconds but mucked when he was shown the J♦10♠ by Mateo, breaking out an annoyed smile.

Chong then raised and called a three-bet by Thomas Ward, which brought them to the J♥6♣3♦ flop. Chong checked and Ward bet 300,000 to take it down right there.
