That's a Wrap

Day 1A of the APT Macau Main Event started with 103 hopeful players, including well-known pros such as Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Liz Lieu, Todd Brunson and David Saab. With the midnight hour now upon us, Day 1A has ended. Just 23 players remain. All of the big names were eliminated along the way.

Carter Gill had an excellent day, racing out to an early chip lead and then continuing to amass chips for almost the whole day. Late in the day he ceded the title of "Chip Leader" to Guray Turkay, but Gill remains in excellent position to make a serious run on Day 2.

The players are bagging and tagging their chips now. Once that process is complete, updated chip counts will be posted. In the meantime, each of the 23 survivors well get a well-earned day of rest tomorrow as the rest of the field steps into action for Day 1B. Be sure to join us at 12 noon local time as we provide continuing live updates.
