Talk of the Tables

David Welch

Table three is by far the chattiest of all of the tables left in the tournament. Eddie Hearn is whooping and hollering on every pot he wins, and David Welch gives running commentary on his hands as they're in action.

Welch recently played a four-way pot with Hyoung Jin Nam and two other players. All checked the {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} to Welch on the button. "Check," he said. "And hurry up. I might change my mind and bluff at it." The turn was the {2-Spades}. Hyoung Jin Nam bet 1,600, folding the two players in between him and Welch. Welch raised to 3,500 and Nam quickly called.

"I need a queen, a ten or a club," said Welch before the dealer burned and turned the {K-Hearts}. "Nope, no good," he said. He waved his hand and checked behind after Nam checked. "Your seven's good. Show your seven."

"Deuce," said Nam. It was good.

"Did you have clubs?" Welch asked, showing {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Nam showed {2-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. "Ah, too bad. If a club comes, it's goodbye, good night for you!"
