Event #12 $3,250 Pot-Limit Omaha w/ Rebuys

While the Main Event of the Aussie Millions is in full swing, across the room a small but highly talented field are about to take to the felt for Event #12 of the series.

It's the $3,250 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys event which will require some deep pockets and a lot of skill to reach the final table and the Aussie Millions Championships Gold Ring.

While our focus will be on the Main Event, we'll still endeavor to bring you regular summary updates from the progress of this event throughout the day.

Cards Are in the Air!

This event has commenced with many high profile players taking to the felt. Some of the entrants include Josh Field, Michael Pesek, Jamie Pickering, Sam Youssef, Jason Gray, Niki Jedlicka, Jimmy Siu, Tony G, Ralph Burd, James Obst, Dan Shak, Billy Argyros, Michael Binger, Tony Bloom, Jeff Lisandro, Julian Powell, Michael Guttman and David Ewing.

A quick glance around the room at the rebuy chips the players have brought to the table and we noticed Field and Jedlicka each have about 12,000 in front of them, Youssef with 15,000, Powell has 25,000 while Binger is ready for a big day with 45,000 in front of him!

Some Late Arrivals

Some late arrivals to the event include Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Chris Ferguson and David "Chino" Rheem.

This field is certainly high-quality and there will no easy pots out there today. There are currently 41 entrants with registrations still open.

Table Talk

Julian Powell: "Jeff, how much are you in for?"

Jeff Lisandro: "Those things are personal but if it reaches $25,000, I'll announce it so everyone can laugh!"

Early Leaders

Our early chip leaders include Dan Shak with 15,000, Jamie Pickering with about 12,000, Tony G with 10,000, and Ralph Burd with around 10,000 who also wanted us to give a quick shout out to his wife Jenny back home.

James Obst in Familiar Territory

The rebuy period has recently concluded as players can now settle into a normal pace of play.

The leaders at this point are James "Andy McLOED" Obst with 17,300, Chris Ferguson at 15,500, and Julian Powell with 14,000.

Meanwhile the biggest losers during the rebuy period appear to have been Josh Field and Warwick Mirzikinian, who were reportedly in for six rebuys/add-ons each, with Chino Rheem, Niki Jedlicka, Julian Powell and Jimmy Siu in for about four rebuys/add-ons apiece. We've received an unofficial figure of 87 total rebuys and add-ons, but we'll confirm that for you once the prize pool is released.

Bloom Busts

Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem
Tony Bloom has become one of the first casualties of the PLO with Rebuys event.

On a flop of {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} Chino Rheem checked and Bloom moved all in for his last 3,225. Rheem made the call and tabled {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw as Bloom was leading with his {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} completing Rheem's straight as the {K-Hearts} fell on the river. Bloom is out and Rheem, who is off to a better start today after his early bust-outs in two previous Aussie Millions events, is up to 15,300 chips.
