Hand #53 - Sam Capra

Sam Capra has the button in Seat 8. Rajkumar Ramakrishnan raises to 85,000 in the cutoff and Capra moves all in on the button for around 600,000. Ramakrishnan calls and tables {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, but it trails Capra's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

Capra pumps his fist in anticipation of the flop. It comes {Q-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades}, safe for Capra. The turn is the {8-Diamonds} and Raj needs to catch a king to eliminate Capra. The river is the {4-Spades} and Capra's cheering section outside the final table room erupts in celebration.

With that double up, Capra is now just over 1,400,000.

Barny Boatman Eliminated in 8th Place (AU$100,000)

Barny Boatman - 8th Place
Barny Boatman - 8th Place
Hand No. 52 -

Rajkumar Ramakrishnan has the button in Seat 7. Barny Boatman moves all in from under the gun. Everyone folds in turn to Zach Gruneberg in the big blind, who peeks at his cards and quickly calls.

Boatman: {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}
Gruneberg: {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts}

It doesn't look good for Boatman. He's dominated by Gruneberg. There's no help on the flop, which comes down {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {3-Spades}. The turn is the {7-Clubs}, which kills any shot Boatman has of winning the hand. He can only chop with a king, an ace, or a seven. When the river falls {4-Hearts}, he's the first player eliminated.

Everyone else gives Boatman a round of applause as he leaves the table to collect AU$100,000.

Hand #50 - Stewart Scott

Stewart Scott has the button in Seat 5. Elliot Smith raises to 80,000. Scott, who recently crossed the 5-million mark, reraises to 300,000. Everyone else at the table folds, including Smith.

Hand #48 - Stewart Scott

Elliot Smith has the button in Seat 3. Zach Gruneberg opens for 75,000, folding all players up to big blind Stewart Scott. He calls.

The flop is {7-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {9-Spades}. Both players check to the turn, which is the {8-Clubs}. Scott bets 175,000 and secures the pot after Gruneberg open mucks pocket fives with a laugh.

Hand #47 - Stewart Scott

Barny Boatman has the button in Seat 2. Stewart Scott raises to 80,000 under the gun and Boatman calls. The flop comes {A-Spades} {6-Hearts} {K-Spades} and Scott bets 90,000. Boatman makes the call and the {K-Diamonds} falls on the turn. Both players check and the {5-Clubs} hits the river. Stewart bets 200,000 and Boatman immediately calls, but looks absolutely stunned to see Scott table {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} for a rivered full house to win the pot.

Scott collects the chips and is now over 5 million.

Hand #46 - Elliot Smith

Elliot Smith
Elliot Smith
Zach Gruneberg has the button in Seat 1. Rajkumar Ramakrishnan is the first mover, raising to 120,000. Elliot Smith calls out of the big blind. The flop comes black and connected, {5-Spades} {6-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Ramakrishnan bets 350,000 after Elliot Smith checks. Smith quickly moves all in and Ramakrishnan calls. Smith is at risk of elimination as the cards are opened.

Smith: {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}
Ramakrishnan: {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}

Smith is standing over the table. He has two overcards and a flush draw against Ramakrishnan's pair of tens. When the dealer burns and turns the {2-Spades}, Smith twirls and pumps a fist through the air. He will double up, having lock on the hand with a spade flush . It's a good thing, too -- the river falls {10-Clubs} to give Ramakrishnan a set.

The tournament director counts down Smith's stack as 755,000. That makes the pot worth roughly 1.85 million chips, including the preflop action.

Hand #45 - Zach Gruneberg

Sam Capra has the button in Seat 8. Action folds to him and he makes it 85,000 to play. Zach Gruneberg reraises to 185,000 from the small blind and the decision is back on Capra. He decides to call and it brings a flop of {J-Spades} {2-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}. Gruneberg leads out for 200,000 and Capra thinks for a minute or so before folding.
