A Bonus for Timex

Michael "Timex" McDonald was gifted a few thousand chips on one of the last hands before the break. He bet 1,500 on the river of a {K-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {8-Hearts} board. His opponent tried to call by pitching two gray (1,000) chips onto the felt, but accidentally pitched a gray and a yellow (5,000). It was ruled that he had raised to 6,000. McDonald then moved all in over the top of the raise. His opponent tanked for a minute before folding {Q-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. McDonald showed {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} for the nuts.

Sherif Pulls Huge Bluff

Derias pulls bluff
Derias pulls bluff
Catching the action on the feature table with the board reading {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} Sherif Derias threw out a bet of 1,800. His opponent made the call and when the {J-Spades} fell on the river, Derias continued his aggression with a bet of 7,000.

His opponent ummed and ahhed before he tabled his cards as they went into the muck; {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Derias, always the gentlemen, kindly showed his {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for only bottom pair as he raked in the pot sending him back to starting stack.

Jordanou and Friedman Tangle

Perry Friedman opened to 600 from late position and Bill Jordanou called out of the small blind.

A flop of {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Jordanou check-called a 1,100 bet from Friedman. The {K-Spades} landed on the turn and Jordanou went into the tank when faced with a 2,100 bet from Friedman. Jordanou cut down his stack to see what remained before folding the {A-Hearts} face-up.

Friedman tapped the table in acknowledgment and mucked his cards, taking down the pot sending him back to 19,000 in chips.

Sherif Misses Value?

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} Sherif Derias reraised to 2,500 following an original bet of 1,000. His opponent made the call, and when the {7-Hearts} landed on the turn he called Derias' 2,500-chip bet.

The river landed the {8-Diamonds} and both players checked, with Derias tabling {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to take the pot ahead of his opponent's {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Derias is now back to above average with a 24,000-chip stack.

Nothing But the Nuts

Liya Gerasimova
Liya Gerasimova
Liya Gerasimova was left shaking her head after a recent encounter with Cort Kibler-Melby on the secondary feature table. We came to the table with the flop already showing {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades} {K-Spades} and Gerasimova pitching 2,000 chips into the middle to call a bet from Kibler-Melby. The turn came {3-Spades}. Gerasimova slowly checked to Kibler-Melby and then called after he made the price of poker 4,000 chips.

On the river {10-Clubs}, Gerasimova checked again. It took Kibler-Melby about 10 seconds to slide a bet of 10,000 out onto the felt. Gerasimova's chest heaved deeply one time as she contemplated her decision. After about 30 seconds she made the call. Kibler-Melby showed the nuts, {A-Spades} {8-Spades}. Gerasimova disgustedly shook her head and mucked her hand.

Harry Demetriou has started today on the right foot. Holding {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Demetriou raised to 675 preflop and both the blinds made the call. With the {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop and action checked to him, Demetriou bet out 1,000 with his two pair. The player in the small blind made the call.

On the turn {8-Clubs}, Demetriou upped it to 1,500 and again his opponent flat-called. Finally with the river {7-Spades} Demetriou fired out 2,500 which his opponent instantly called, and then instantly mucked upon seeing Demetriou's hand.

All up he's over 30,000 at the moment.

Here we goooooooo!
Here we goooooooo!
Emad Tahtouh has found a well needed double when his {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} took down his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} all in preflop.

Dunst Regroups

Tony Dunst lost some chips earlier in the day after running kings into aces. He's now regrouping. He made it 600 to go from early position and was called in one spot. On a flop of {5-Spades} {7-Spades} {J-Diamonds} Dunst led out for 900 and was raised by his opponent to 2,500. Dunst made the call.

The two players checked the {6-Hearts} turn and the {3-Spades} river. At showdown, Dunst's opponent tabled {K-?} {J-?} for top pair, king kicker. Dunst was one rank better, showing down {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} for top pair, ace kicker. The pot was shipped to him, rebuilding his stack to about 19,000 chips.

Liya Gerasimova Eliminated

One member of the Eastern European contingent has hit the rail. Liya Gerasimova moved all in preflop with {A-?}{Q-?} and was called by a player with pocket tens. The board cards dodged Gerasimova's hand, with Gerasimova's opponent spiking an unnecessary ten on the river. Gerasimova is out.
