Karambis Spikes Set to Bust Channing

Neil Channing eliminated
Neil Channing eliminated
Larry Karambis raised to 2,700 from early position before Neil Channing popped it up to 10,000 from the button. Karambis moved all in and Channing made the call.

Karambis: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Channing: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

Channing was in control but the flop was a devastating {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Spades} to give Karambis a set. With only two outs to survive, the turn was the {K-Hearts} and river the {A-Spades} and Channing is busted as Karambis cracks the 100,000 barrier.

Croc Hunted Down

Billy "The Croc" Argyros is out of the tournament. He pushed his short stack into the middle with {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and was called by an opponent with {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}. The board never rescued Argyros. He finished with queen high and has left the tournament area.

Jeffreys Can't Beat Casale

It seems inevitable that Andrew Jeffreys will be eliminated by Antonio Casale. Once again, Jeffries and Casale tangled. Once again, they tangled with {K-?}{k-?} vs. {Q-?}{q-?}. Once again, Casale won the hand. Only this time Casale had the kings and Jeffreys wasn't able to outdraw him.

Jeffreys opened to 2,100, which Casale popped up to 4,200. Jeffreys called. The flop came {8-?}{9-?}{10-?} and Kasale fired 10,000, which Jeffreys flat-called. The {5-?} on the turn saw Kasale fire and Jeffreys flat-call again. This time the bet was 15,000. On the river {k-?}, Casale moved enough chips in to put Jeffreys' tournament life on the line, and in the end Jeffreys thought better of it and folded.

Ironically the card that made Casale a set was the card that Jeffreys states, "Saved my tournament from elimination right there."

Jeffreys has just 20,000 left.

Huntly Sent Packing by the Maldito Rio

Dennis Huntly - eliminated
Dennis Huntly - eliminated
Dennis Huntly has every right to feel incredibly steamed because of his bust-out from the tournament. He wound up in a three-way all-in preflop against two opponents. John Paul Kelly opened with a raise preflop before a player in middle position shoved with {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}. Huntly had been dealt {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} and re-shoved for about 20,000 chips. That brought the action back to Kelly. He hemmed and hawed, but with chips to burn decided to go for the double-knockout and called with {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}.

Huntly had the best of it preflop, and extended his edge by flopping a set, {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {2-Diamonds}. The middle-position player was practically drawing dead; Kelly was drawing at four outs. The turn {j-Clubs} didn't change the picture, but the river {10-Clubs} did. It made a Broadway straight for Kelly to send Huntly to the rail, tattooed forehead and all.

Steve Sung Sails Over 100,000

Steve Sung has sailed to 108,000 chips when his opponent incorrectly put Sung on a bluff. On a flop of {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} Sung fired 2,500 which was called by both Tino Lechich and the unknown player.

On the turn {3-Diamonds} the opponent checked to Sung who bet 10,000, Lechich got out of the way, and the unknown player proceeded to check-raise all in to 23,000. Sung made the call and tabled top pair {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, and would be up against the {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} of his opponent.

The river {8-Spades} was not a trouble card for Sung who move up to 108,000, eliminating the other player in the process.

McFadden Busts

McFadden out
McFadden out
Brian McFadden has been eliminated as he moved his short stack all in on a board of {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}. McFadden held a strong {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for an overpair but found that his opponent Jeremy Joseph had flopped trips with {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Needing a queen to survive, the river was the {2-Hearts} to eliminate McFadden from the tournament as Joseph is out to 145,000 chips.

A Mountain for Michael

Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec is sitting behind a mountain of chips after sending Sean Dunwoodie to the rail. Dunwoodie opened from middle position for 3,200. Tureniec was on the button with pocket kings and made it 9,200 to go. Dunwoodie responded by putting all 53,000 of his chips in the middle and of course Tureniec made the call. It turned out that Dunwoodie was on offsuited {A-?}{Q-?}. He whiffed the board completely, finishing with ace high after the board came {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. He retired to the rail while Tureniec spent a few minutes stacking his mountain of 314,000 chips.

Graham Doubles Through Comer

Jarred Graham was down to 16,500. He put all of those chips up for grabs preflop and was called by Martin Comer. Comer had a pocket pair, {7-Spades} {7-Hearts}, but Graham had a bigger pocket pair, {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. The board came {6-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {10-Spades} {6-Spades} to give Graham the double. He's still below par, but a bit healthier now with 35,000 chips. Comer is sitting on 63,000.

Dodds Rockets Ahead

Joel "StrongPlay" Dodds
Joel "StrongPlay" Dodds
Joel Dodds fans will be happy to learn that "StrongPlay" finally found two cards within his range and his timing couldn't have been more perfect.

Dodds raised to 2,600 before Nino Marotta raised to 9,500 from the button. The blinds folded and Dodds deliberated for a long time before moving all in for 48,000. Marotta made the call.

Dodds: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}
Marotta: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board landed {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Dodds sent Marotta to the rail as he now moves up to a healthy 100,000 chips.
