Leonid Cai has become the final elimination of day three. Preflop Cai called a raise from Michael Tureniec to 16,000. Both players checked the flop and Tureniec fired out 26,000 on the turn which Cai check called. Finally on the river Tureniec bet enough to put Cai all in and he made the call.
Tureniec flipped for a flopped straight and Cai mucked and headed for the rail.
Day Three has come to an end. We started the day with 81 players and have ended with just 28 left. Among the notable eliminations today were: Joe Hachem, David Kruger, Joe Cabret and bubble boy Canadian Pokernews qualifier Will Zemljaric, who all bit the bullet before the money.
Throughout the day we saw the top of the chip counts change multiple times with Christopher Chronis, Stewart Scott, Annica Ivert and Annette Obrestad all taking turns as chipleader. It is fitting then that the overnight chip leader is none of the above. Michael Tureniec is our current leader at 1,072,000 chips.
It will be very interesting to see the make up of the final table. Last year just two foreigners made the final table, but that didn't stop an all international heads up match taking place. Will the Aussies be embarrased at their home title once again? Or, will it be an Aussie holding the bracelet aloft this year? Join us tomorrow at 12:30pm local time as we play down to the final table of the 2009 Aussie Million Poker Championship Main Event.
