Mel Judah Eliminated

Mel Judah was put all in by Co Angelakis on fifth street. Here's how the boards looked when the money went in.

Judah: ({7-Spades}{2-Spades}){7-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Angelakis: ({K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}){6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

Angelakis had brought in and Judah completed when the action folded to him. Angelakis made the call. Judah then bet fourth street and fifth street before Angelakis raised on fifth to get Judah all in.

Angelakis hit a {6-Hearts} on sixth and a {5-Diamonds} on seventh to best Judah's {4-Spades} and {3-Clubs} that he got. Judah was sent to the rail and nine remained.

Only 10 Left

John Joannou and one other player have both hit the rail. Joannou was eliminated at the hands on Con Angelakis who held a straight. Angelakis is on 68,000 now.

ALso going strong is Vincent Wan. Wan is up to 78,000 and just showed a full house on fifth street to his table -- {K-?}{10-?}{10-?}{K-?}{10-?}.

We might make it to the final table (eight handed) by the dinner break, which is at the end of this level.

Wan's Flush Beats Joannou's Trip Aces

John Joannou: (X-X){A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}(X)
Vincent Wan: (X-X){3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}(X)

Picking up the action on fourth street, Joannou bet and Wan called. After fifth, Joannou checked and Wan bet. Joannou called. The same thing happened on sixth and seventh.

Wan had {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} in the hole for a flush. Joannou showed his hole cards -- {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Wan's flush put him at 57,210. Joannou dropped to 29,690.

Smyth Leading

Peter Smyth: (X-X){K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}
Opponent: (X-X){9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}-Fold
Opponent: (X-X){8-Clubs}{J-Spades}-Fold

Smyth completed and the other two players made the call on third. "Two non-believers!" announced Smyth. After one of his opponents paired up his doorcard on fourth, Smyth bet when checked to. Only the player that held the pair of nines called.

Fifth was checked by both players and then Smyth fired sixth after his opponent checked to him. The player folded and Smyth showed that his two down cards of {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

Smyth is now up to 103,875 and leading the way.

One for Wan

Con Angelakis was faced with a decision on sixth street with his board of (X-X){5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. His opponent was Vincent Wan and he had been betting most of the way into Angelakis. He bet sixth and Angelakis went into the tank. Wan's board read (X-X){Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Angelakis eventually mucked his hand and Wan scooped the pot. He moved up to 42,000 while Angelakis dropped to 38,000.

Here Comes Grapenthien

Matt Grapenthien just stormed back from 10,585 chips all the way up to 57,000. First, he crushed an opponent to move to 38,000 and then finished off that same player with two pair, queens and jacks, on the next hand. John Joannou was also in the hand and donated to the Grapenthien charity. Joannou had a weaker two pair, tens and fours.
