Langmann Strikes Back

Florian Langmann has struck back after Kyle McMurphy took the early lead.

On a {4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop Langmann check-raised to 1,800 over a 600 chip bet from McMurphy. After thinking about it McMurphy called and the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn prompting both players to check.

On the river {Q-Clubs} Langmann led 2,000 and after tanking a good time McMurphy folded.

McMurphy has a slim lead at this point, with the game tied 0-0 overall.

Not A Lot Happening

Not a lot to report here.

Kyle McMurphy is close to taking the lead against Florian Langmann.

Darren Woods is very close to taking the match against Gary Retallick.

Retallick Looking to Rally

Gary Retallick is looking to get back into the match against Darren Woods.

Retallick doubled through after limping in and taking a {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop. Woods fired out 1,000, enough to set Retallick all in.

With a "Let's see how we go here," Retallick made the call with {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. He was acutlly ahead with Woods tabling {7-Hearts}{6-Spades} for an open ender.

The {5-Clubs} hit the turn, and the river was the {k-Diamonds} making a flush for Retallick.

He's back to around 2,000 chips at the moment. That means that Woods has about 8,000.

Break Throughs!

The two stalemates have been broken.

Darren Woods got the win over a short-stacked Gary Retallick.

On the other table Kyle McMurphy has the 1-0 advantage over Florian Langmann.

McMurphy limped in. They took a {k-?}{5-?}{2-?} flop. Langmann check-raised to 1,400 over a 500 chip bet from McMurphy. McMurphy responded by moving all in and Langmann made the call for his stack.

Langmann: {5-?}{6-?}
McMurphy: {k-?}{2-?}

It was going to take a lot of help to stop Langmann going behind 1-0. It didn't arrive McMurphy has the lead.

Woods vs Saab due to start soon.

Saab vs Woods Has Started

The final game to get underway for day 1b has started. David Saab will take on Team 888 Poker member Darren Woods.

Saab has had to wait a long time for this game to start and he's finally in action. He has to play an extra game than Woods as well, with a mentally draining challenge against Jay Rosenkrantz.

That said with Saab going through in straight sets from the second round, and Woods playing a marathon in his only game, they have probably played a similar amount of poker today.

Even Stevens

Kyle McMurphy and Florian Langmann are all tied at one after Langmann won the second rubber.

The chips went in preflop with a short-stacked McMurphy holding {j-?}{q-?} against Langmann's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} to level things up.

They are taking a quick break and will return soon to play the third and deciding rubber.

Woods On the Back Foot

Darren Woods is looking clearly uncomfortable adjusting to the aggressive style of David Saab, compared to the rock tight style of Gary Retallick.

Saab is raising every pot and has the chip advantage at the moment.

Quarter Finals

Two quarter final match ups have been announced.

Barry Woods will play Vanessa Selbst, while Andrew "Lucky Chewy" Lichtenberger goes up against Martin Gudvangen.

Brian Roberts and Andrew Seidman will take on the respective winners of the games currently in progress.
