Woods Back In the Game

Darren Woods is back in business after doubling through David Saab.

Woods got as low as 6,500 in chips before finding {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. David Saab opened the button to 450, and Woods came over the top virtually all in. Saab bet enough to put the rest of Woods' chips in the pot and when Woods called, Saab rolled over {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

"Glad you're the one the shortstack, lets race!", said Saab.

The flop was {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}. "Yeah baby! Now no redraws," said Saab, preempting what was to come next.

The {5-Hearts} hit the turn making Woods a straight. "Ok re-draw it again dealer," said Saab.

This time he didn't have the magic touch. The {j-Spades} blanked the river.

Saab is now behind in the chip counts and they are at 0-0 in the match.

In the other game it's 1-1, with Kyle McMurphy looking the more likely to go through.

McMurphy Advances

Kyle McMurphy has moved through to the quarter finals and earned himself a cash.

On the final hand against Florian Langmann, McMurphy opened to 250, with the reasonably short Langmann moving all in over the top. McMurphy made the call.

Langmann: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
McMurphy: {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Hearts} hitting neither player. This mean McMurphy held up, eliminating Langmann in the process.

Saab Up

All the chips went in preflop, with David Saab's {A-Spades}{j-Diamonds} the all in player, against Woods' {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts} to move Saab into a super commanding position.

The very next hand Woods moved in for 700 chips and Saab called. Woods had {Q-?}{7-?} and was crushed by Saab's {Q-?}{q-?}

The flop came {10-?}{A-?}{2-?}. The turn was a {j-?} and you guessed it {k-?} river.

Woods managed to double through twice, but there would be no third time lucky - David Saab is 1-0 ahead.

Contrasting Styles

It's interesting to note the contrasting styles of the two players in tonight's last game.

Darren Woods is a stoic character, with his iPod in his ears, not engaging a whole lot.

Saab on the other hand is chatting up a storm as always. Conversation topics have ranged from his favorite music (Eminem) to whether he really looks like the naked mafia boss from the movie "The Hangover".

Woods is leading the second rubber on chips. Saab leads the match 1-0.

Saab Doubles

Darren Woods opened from the button to 400 and David Saab pushed over the top for about 4,500. Woods made the call with {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, to be ahead of Saab's {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Saab trailing wouldn't last long. The {7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop put him in front. He wasn't exactly happy to see the {k-Hearts} on the turn though. Although it made him trips, it gave Woods a flush draw.

"No sick redraws," said Saab.

There would be none. The {3-Clubs} blanked the river.

Things are almost even here in the second rubber.

All Even

Darren Woods has closed out a second rubber victory.

After Woods raised off the button, David Saab shoved over the top. Woods called and the match was very much on the line.

That said Woods was pretty comfortable with his {K-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} well in control against the {J-Clubs}{Q-Spades} of Saab.

It stayed that way, the board ran out {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} to level the match at 1-1.

They are taking a short break right now, before they play out the deciding rubber.

Woods Leading

Wood is getting on top in this one now. Taking down the lions share of smaller pots. Woods has about 12,500 in chips to Saab's 7,500. More importantly he has the all important momentum.

Saab is going to have to do something to turn this around.
