Assadourian Restrained

Hold'em

Eric Assadourian is craving some no limit action, frustrated by the restraints of Fixed Limit Hold'em.

Recently Assadourian defended his blind against a raise from Peter Vratsidis. With Assadourian's call they went heads up to a {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop.

Assadourian checked, and Vratsidis fired out a bet. Assadourian raised and Vratsidis re-raising. Assadourian called and the turn was the {k-Spades}.

This time Assadourian made the check-call and the river was the {4-Hearts}. Both players checked and Vratsidis showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

As Assadourian mucked his hand, he looked at Vratsidis and said, "You know, if we were playing no limit (hold'em) I win that hand".

Brown On The Razz

WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Brown is amongst those hoping to secure a gold ring here at the Aussie Millions. Brown won his bracelet a couple of years ago defeating Ted Forrest in a Omaha Hi-Lo event, but has previously stated that he prefers Razz.

He just picked up a pot here in the affore-mentioned Razz, betting out with {4-?} {5-?} making an opponent fold {4-?} {J-?} to him.

More For Mel

Razz

Judah: {7-?} {4-?} {10-?} {6-?}
Opponent: {4-?} {5-?} {3-?} {K-?}

Two other player were in the hand but both folded on 4th where Judah had bet out with his opponent calling.

On 5th the other player fired and Judah called, before Judah bet once more on 6th. This time however, his opponent rechecked his cards and decided to fold, giving more chips to the former WPT winner.

Portaro Flushed Away

Omaha Hi-Lo

Bruno Portaro has been given an early mark from the tournament courtesy of Danny Mountt.

Mountt limped in from the small blind, with Portaro checking his option in the big blind.

They took a {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop with Portaro betting out and after checking how many chips were left in Portaro's stack, Mountt called.

The turn was the {Q-Spades} and again Mountt just flat called a Portaro lead. The river {10-Spades} had the last of Portaro's chips go into the middle with Mountt completing the call down.

Neither player would be playing the low, and Portaro would be off to the rail, after tabling a smaller flush to Mountt.

Marsha Dishing Out Free Lessons

Stud

Australia's newest Poker Hall of Fame inductee Marsha Waggoner is dishing out the free lessons.

Juliette Connolly: {X X} {4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{k-Clubs} {X}
Waggoner: {X X} {6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} {X}

After Connolly had bet both third and fourth street's, they both opted to check fifth street. After both check Waggoner decided to take the aggressive line betting out on sixth street. Connolly called and they each received their last hole card.

Without looking at the card in front of her Waggoner fired out in the dark, forcing a fold from her opponent.

"Thanks for the free lesson Marsha!" said Connolly.

Duckworth, Lewis Finds Their Own Methods

Stud-8

Tim Duckworth brought in with the {4-Spades} and Michael Dix completed with the {5-Spades}. Passed around to Toby Lewis who raised, Duckworth and Dix both called.

Duckworth: (X) (X) {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds} (Folded)
Dix: (X) (X) {5-Spades} {4-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {4-Clubs} (X)
Lewis: (X) (X) {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} (X)

Lewis checked on 4th and so did Duckworth, Dix bet, Lewis called and Duckworth folded. Lewis fired out on 5th and Dix called, the same pattern occuring on 6th.

On 7th Lewis bet once more, Dix rechecked his cards and gave up.
