Scott Straightens Himself Up

With the board reading {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades}, the player in the big blind bet 1,500 only to see reigning Aussie Millions Main Event Champion Stewart Scott move all-in for over 1,000 more. Scott's opponent called, and Scott was well ahead with the {5-Clubs}{6-Spades}. His opponent had outs though with a set of deuces, but the {j-Spades} on the river was not one of those outs.

Stewart Scott is now up to 7,000, while his opponent was left looking for a rebuy.

Scott Looking Strong Early

Last year's Aussie Millions Main Event champion Stewart Scott just picked up some more chips to build his stack to 9,500. This time, he added the stack of Carter Phillips. Phillips had a flush draw and gutshot on the flop and Scott top pair. The draws failed to get there for Phillips and he was back to the cage for some more rebuy chips after tossing his last one on the table.

"I'm in for like 6k!" Phillips said.

Easy Game

Neil Channing is teaching a poker skill master class today - much like the guys from the Aussie Millions academy each day.

In a recent hand Rayan Nathan limped in from early position and Channing pushed all in from the cutoff for 2,100. The small blind went into the tank for a good while before calling with {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and Nathan folded.

Channing rolled ovr {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} with a big grin.

"Did you even look?," asked his opponent.

"Of course I didn't look, I haven't looked the last five minutes," came the reply from Channing.

The strategy seems to work. The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to pair Channing up, and double him through to 4,300.

Just Bet the Flop and Win

Joe Hachem raised to 100 from early position and found a bunch of callers. Two players in middle position called, John Myung called on the button and both blinds came along as well.

THe flop came down {10-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} and action checked to Hachem,. He bet 500 and one by one, each player folded. Hachem smirked as he raked in the chips to move up to 3,350.

Check-raising Hachem

Just a few minutes after his last victory, Joe Hachem was in the big blind and called a raise from the player in the small blind who made it 175 to go.

The two players saw a flop of {A-Spades} {4-Spades} {2-Clubs} and the small blind bet 225. Hachem raised to 800. The small blind checked to see how much Hachem had left in his stack and then made the call.

The turn card was the {2-Diamonds} and the small blind checked. Hachem fired 1,500. The small blind then check-raised enough to put Hachem at risk for his last 950 chips, but Hachem instantly folded. He pulled out a rebuy chip and tossed it on the table to add some chips to his stack.

Nelson Takes One Off Nasr

One of the greatest names in poker, [Removed:197], raised to 125 from middle position and Lee Nelson called from the button. The flop came down {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {7-Spades} and Nasr fired 175. Nelson made the call.

The turn card was the {6-Hearts} and Nasr checked, passing the action over to Nelson. Nelson fired 450 and won the pot. He's back up to 4,000 while Nasr dropped a little to 4,850.

Quiet for a Rebuy

Things seem a bit quiet out on the floor for a rebuy event. The dealers haven't been shouting for rebuys as often as we thought they would coming into today. There's roughly 15 minutes left until the rebuy period ends, so things should start picking up as people gamble to grab a stack.
