After another grueling twelve level day, the Aussie Millions Event 1: $1,100 Opening Event has at last wrapped it’s final day one flight!

It was 420 entries today which brought the overall field to a nice round number of 1000, generating a AUD$1,000,000 prizepool and a AUD200,020 first prize.

Local hopefuls Tom Wing, Tyron Krost, Brendon Rubie, Billy Jordanou and Billy “The Croc” Argyros were just a handful of the many who tried and failed to make a day two birth. While leading the international contingent of those to not make day two include Annette Obrestad, Maria Ho and James Akenhead.

There were 63 players who survived after day 1c was all said and done, with Costa Argirai (179,300), Alex Dayoub (162,200), Jack Powell (132,000) and Rody Kaka (124,200) leading the way.

Still in the hunt with respectable stacks is local “last woman standing” contender Jackie Glazier (74,700), Aussie online pro Steve “Steve0l” Leonard (76,400), Michael Spilkin (46,800) and Graeme “KiwiG” Putt (34,600). Full Tilt Poker Pro Barny Boatmen (74,200) also finds himself in good shape for day 2.

It will be 143 who return for day 2 action at the Crown Poker Room in Melbourne, with only 90 players finding themselves in the money. Play will be kicking off at 12:30 EST, so be sure to join the PokerNews Live Reporting Team and catch all 142 eliminations before only one can call themselves a 2011 Aussie Millions champion!
