It's not very often we catch a really big hand, but we did just that, or at least the tail end of one. With about 20,000 in the pot and a board reading , an unknown player with a big stack moved all in and put the pressure on Peter Aristidou, who had 9,300 behind. Unfortunately for the bettor, Aristidou snap-called and rolled over for quad jacks. He doubled on the hand to about 40,000 and received a pat on the back from the player to his right.
We're not sure of the action, but an unknown player ended up all in preflop for his last 8,125 with and was up against the of Michael Kenaan. The flop was disaster for Kanaan as it gave his opponent the come-from-behind set. Neither the turn nor river changed a thing and Kanaan dropped down to 13,000.
While Registration is opening for a little while longer, the tournament officials have just announced that the first flight has already drawn 270 players. That number may very well go up by the end of the level.

Grant Levy opened from early position for 800 and was quickly met with a three-bet to 3,000 by a player in middle position. Action folded back around to Levy and he eyed his opponent's stack, about 9,000, before announcing that he was all in. The middle-position player wasted little time in tossing his cards to the muck. With that, Levy is up to around 30,000.
We would also like to note that Paul Birman has been eliminated from the tournament.
As we passed Jackie Glazier's table we noticed that the prominent Australian poker player is sitting behind one of the largest stacks in the rooms. Just near Glazier is Martin Drewe who also has one of the biggest stacks in the room.
We didn't catch his bustout hand, but Simon Watt has been eliminated from the tournament; however, he will be back tomorrow to try again. Watt explained on Twitter:
"Damn no sleep in tomorrow, busted flight 1 of the 1.1k Repechage event so back again for flight 2 #aussieMillions"
With about 1,500 in the pot, an unknown player and Peter Aristidou checked a flop of , leading to the turn, which both players also checked. When the appeared on the river, the unknown player checked, Aristidou bet 1,600, and his opponent quickly folded. It wasn't much of a hand, but a good excuse for us to mention that Aristidou is up to 17,500.
On the other hand, Jeff Rossiter has been eliminated from the tournament. For those who may recall, Rossiter came in third last year in the Main Event for AUD$700,000.
Andrew Hinrichsen is currently sitting in front of a nice looking stack with the following hand one of the reasons it's looking all the more healthy.
It was a raised pot between Hinrichsen and one opponent that saw land on the flop. At this point Hinrichsen opted to check-call a bet of 1,425 from his opponent as a landed on the turn.
This time both players checked before the hit the river. Hinrichsen thought for quite some time before he decided 3,450 was the right amount to bet. That amount sent his opponent into the tank before finally the cards went into the muck and Hinrichsen took down the pot.
