Dodge Board

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

A player in the hi-jack seat pushed his last 19,500 chips in the middle and found a caller in our chip leader Michal Polchlopek. The hi-jack player tabled {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Polchlopek {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

On the flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, the at risk player was playing dodge the board, as Polchlopek had flopped both a flush and gutshot straight draw. Miraculously the board bricked out {3-Spades}{J-Spades} and the players at Polchlopek's table may now think the tides are changing for our chip leader.

You do the Math

Math More's run came to and end after shoved for 30,000 with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and walked into an opponent holding pocket queens.

JP Kelly's seat is now filled by another soul. He never made a comeback from the recent loss.

Tides A Changing

Michal Polchlopek found himself doubling up yet another player and this time the price was just over 50,000 chips.

Polchlopek opened in mid position, and when the button shoved his 50,000 chips, Polchlopek felt obliged to call.

Polchlopek was in bad shape with his {A-}{10-} against his opponents {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

There was no real sweat as the board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Polchlopek's monster stack has taken a bit of a dent as he now moves down to 190,000 and change.

Hand For Hand

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

With only 33 players remaining, the play is now hand-for-hand. When 32 players remain there will be redraw as the event changes to a shootout format.

Brkovic Just Keeps Doubling

Aleks Brkovic is enjoying his coverage from PokerNews today, and has commented on the fact that every time our field reporters pass his table, he always doubles. This time it was at the expense of Radoslaw Kopec.

Brkovic opened in mid position to 6,000 and found some resistance from Kopec on button. Kopec raised to 15,100 and Brkovic moved all-in for 90,800. Kopec didn't take long to make the call.

Brkovic: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Kopec: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The {A-Spades} was in the window and the board ran out {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} to give Brkovic another double.

Double Demteriou

Harry Demteriou has doubled to 87,000 after getting a luck flop. He raise d from UTG and called when the player in the next seat three-bet.

The flop fell {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Demteriou check-called off his last 18,400 with pocket fours for a set. His opened opened pocket queens and the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Break Time

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The clock was paused with eight minutes remaining on the level and the players were sent on a break. The TD wanted to colour up some of the small denomination chips and do some rough counts so as to be more ready for the redraw when the bubble bursts.

The Bubble Bursts to End Play for the Day

The bubble burst on the first hand back from break.

Mark Maontague, who was crippled by Harry Demetriou a short while ago, moved all-in for his last 6,300 from the button. Both blinds called and checked the {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{J-Spades} board all the way down.

Montague opened {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines but lost out to George Moussa who rivered a jack with {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

That concludes play for today. A recap and full seat draw will be up shortly.
