Pair of Aces Good for Tran

From the cutoff seat, JC Tran raised to 1,500 and Dan Shak called from the big blind to see the flop come down {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Both checked.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and Shak check-called a bet of 2,000 from Tran.

The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds} and Shak checked again. Tran bet 4,500 and Shak tossed in the call.

Tran rolled over the {A-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a pair of aces and Shak mucked his hand.

More Players Coming

Level 1 : 500/500, 0 ante
Jonathan Karamalikis
Jonathan Karamalikis

Right now, there's just 18 players in the field spread across three tables of six. Jonathan Karamalikis is sitting off to the side getting a massage, but told us that he is going to play the event, just as a late registrant. Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen and Tony G should also be arriving some time before registration closes, which remains open for four hours into play.

Straight for Dwan

Level 1 : 500/500, 0 ante

Dan Shak raised from under the gun to 1,500. His only customer was Tom Dwan, who made the call from the small blind and then checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop. Shak checked behind.

The {7-Clubs} landed on the turn and Dwan bet 2,500. Shak called.

The {3-Diamonds} fell on the river and Dwan fired 4,500. Shak mulled it over and then called.

Dwan tabled the {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a jack-high straight. Shak mucked his hand with a small look of disgust on his face as the pot was shipped Dwan's way.

No River Call for Dwan

We picked up the action with 7,000 chips in the middle on the {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board between JC Tran and Tom Dwan. Tran fired a bet of 4,500 and Dwan made the call to see the {9-Clubs} pair the board on the river. With 16,000 now in the middle, Tran tossed out 10,000. Dwan mucked his hand and Tran won the pot.

Now Featuring...

Level 1 : 500/500, 0 ante

Well, not that much, to be honest. We just wanted to let you know that we don't have much access to Table Trickett/Mercier right now. It's the main featured table, and it's being encircled by a swarm of cameras and men in black shirts. There's no announcer, and we essentially only have access to a flop cam to catch action up there.

We'll do what we can to keep you updated, but do understand that the bulk of our coverage will be coming from the two outer tables where we have unrestricted access.

Hachem's Pair Better Than Alaei's

On the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Daniel Alaei check-called a bet of 2,000 from Joe Hachem before the {Q-Hearts} fell on the turn. Both players checked fourth street and the river was the {K-Spades}. Alaei bet 4,500 and Hachem quickly called the bet.

Alaei tabled the {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of eights. Hachem showed the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens and won the pot to move back over the starting stack.

Smith Firing Early

From the hijack seat, Dan Smith raised to 1,500. JC Tran put in a three-bet to 4,500 on the button and then Tom Dwan flat-called from the small blind. Smith also made the call and the flop produced the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs}. On the flop, Dwan checked and Smith bet 10,500. Tran got out of the way and then Dwan called.

The {7-Hearts} landed on the turn and Dwan checked over to Smith again. Smith upped his wager and fired 17,500. Dwan stared him down, then made the call.

The river card completed the board with the {10-Spades} and Dwan checked. Smith bet what looked to be 37,500, but it didn't matter too much as Dwan quickly folded.

"That wasn't a good river card," he mentioned to his neighbor Tran.

Early One for Reinkemeier

Level 1 : 500/500, 0 ante

From the hijack seat, Daniel Alaei opened with a raise to 1,500. He was called by Joe Hachem on the button, Tobias Reinkemeier in the small blind and Nam Le in the big blind. From there, all four players saw the flop come down {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and action checked around.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Reinkemeier was first up. He bet 4,000 and Le folded. Alaei and Hachem also gave it up, allowing Reinkemeier to scoop the early pot.

You Better Act Quick

Level 1 : 500/500, 0 ante

The Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge has a special time clock put on each player when it is their action. Each player only has 30 seconds to act before their hand will be declared dead if there is a bet or raise the player is facing or they will be forced to check if there has been no action.

If you make it to the final table, you will get some extra time-bank chips that can be used to lengthen the amount of time you have with your decision. Prior to the final table, no time-bank chips are in play.
