He's a Genius!

Kenny Tran after winning the 2008 Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship
Kenny Tran after winning the 2008 Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship

We haven't seen in for quite some time, but Kenny Tran made his way down to Melbourne and he's playing the Main Event today!

The last cash on Kenny Tran's list of results dates back to October 2011 and his last six-figure score came back in 2008. Tran won the $10,000 WSOP No-Limit Hold'em heads up event for $539,056, his largest cash to date.

It's good to see Tran back on the tournament circuit and we can't help but reminisce about his impressive 2007 WSOP Main Event run. Even Rep Porter had to admit back then that he was the best player in the world. Click here to watch the great call Tran made back in the year Jerry Yang ended up being victorious.

For a "so sick" re-enactment, check out Kristy Arnett's impersonation of Tran during an interview she did with him back in 2010.

Easy Going

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Players are ordering coffee, tea and other beverages left and right and so far the action has been fairly slow. We haven't seen any big pots yet, unlike yesterday when there was an elimination within the first 40 minutes.

Value For Linde

The board read {6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} when Per Linde's opponent checked. The Swede, who has more than a million dollars in live tournament earnings, bet 7,200 in a pot worth around 12,000 and his opponent went into the tank. After a while he made the call and Linde showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a full house.

Linde raked in the pot and is now up to almost 40,000 chips.

Boyaciyan Boasts Big Stack

David Boyaciyan and an opponent were heads up on a board of {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Boyaciyan led out for 3,000, his opponent raised to 8,700, and Boyaciyan tank-called.

The {2-Spades} completed the board, and Boyaciyan slowed down, checking to his opponent who checked behind. The player showed {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a busted flush draw, and the Dutchman rolled over {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for two pair.
