Adams Crippled After Running Queens Into Aces; Eliminated Two Hands Later

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Ping Chan opened from the hijack for 28,000 only to have Ang Pangleng three-bet to 76,000 from the small blind. Brandon Adams looked down at his cards in the big, put both hands on his stacks, and then slid them into the pot for an all-in four-bet to 416,000. Chan then called off for 379,000 and Pangleng got out of the way.

Adams: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Chan: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

It was a cooler for Adams as he had run queens straight into pocket rockets. The {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop wasn't anything special, and Adams was left drawing dead after the {A-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn. After the {8-Hearts} completed the board on the river, the stacks were verified and Adams was left with just 48,000.

Two hands later, Pangleng opened for 26,000 under the gun and then called when Adams moved all in from the button.

Adams: {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Pangleng: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Adams was behind and failed to find any help as the board ran out {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

Lam Picks Up a Small One

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jay Tan opened to 25,000 in early position, Man Hei Lam defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned {7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {a-Hearts}, the two knuckled again, and the {5-Hearts} completed the board. Lam led out for 66,000, and Tan made the call. Lam tabled {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for aces and sevens, and Tan mucked.

Cohen Doubles Through Lam

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Sam Cohen (Day 1c) doubles
Sam Cohen (Day 1c) doubles

Sam Cohen was all in and at risk preflop for her last 293,000 chips holding {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Man Hei Lam had her at risk with {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and was ahead after the flop ({4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}), and the turn ({q-Diamonds}).

The {k-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give Cohen Broadway however, and she doubled to around 590,000 chips. Lam is left with just 430,000.

Royal Flush Draw Not so Sweet for Honeyman

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We caught the action on a [5jcac] flop when a raising way broke out between Nazih Sibaei and Dylan Honeyman that resulted in the latter being all in for right around 240,000.

Sibaei: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Honeyman: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Sibaei had flopped a set, but Honeyman was drawing to a royal flush! According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Honeyman had a 33.84% of making the winning hand, but that dropped significantly to 22.73% when the {8-Spades} rolled off on the turn. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {8-Diamonds}, the last card Honeyman would see before taking his leave in 21st place.

Pangleng Over Two Million

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded to Ang Pangleng, who limped in from the small blind. James Obst raised to 36,000 from the big blind, and Pangleng called.

The flop fell {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The turn was the {7-Hearts}, Pangleng led out for 55,000, and Obst quickly called.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Pangleng led again - this time for 110,000. Obst slit forward a tower of yellow T5,000 chips, calling, and Pangleng turned over {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a flush.

Obst unhappily mucked his cards.

Shak Shows No Love to Lovelady

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

"All in and a call Table 19," a dealer shouted. We arrived just in time to see Joey Lovelady all in for roughly 300,000 (there was already around 250,000 in the middle) holding the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} on a flop of {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}; meanwhile, Dan Shak had {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for trip threes.

The action was halted so the TV cameras could make their way over, and during that time Shak sat with his eyes closed. He opened them just in time to see the dealer burn and put out the {3-Diamonds} on the river. Shak made quads, but more importantly Lovelady missed and was eliminated from the tournament in 20th place.

Obst is Gonna Need a Bigger Boat

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
James Obst - 19th Place
James Obst - 19th Place

We've just had an elimination in 19th place, which means we're now down to three tables.

It happened when James Obst opened for 27,000 under the gun and then called when Mervin Chan three-bet to 66,000 from the button. Obst proceeded to check the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, and Chan took the opportunity to bet 70,000. Obst responded with a check-raise to 160,000, Chan called, and the {2-Clubs} turned.

This time Obst led out for 175,000, and then he called off for around 300,000 more when Chan moved all in. Obst tabled {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a full house, but it was no good as Chan held a bigger boat with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Obst, who finished Day 2 as the chip leader, was drawing dead headed to the river, which came the {J-Spades}.

The remaining 18 players are now on a short break before redrawing for the final three tables.
