The S.S. Dudani

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

"I finally got my passport to travel," Shiva Dudani told us earlier in the day.

The American pro, who we're accustomed to seeing on the World Series of Poker Circuit, made the trip to Melbourne to take a shot at the Aussie Millions Main Event. Similarly, Rob Edelstein, a pro based out of Chicago, did the same. It seems the allure of the city and a big-time tournament is too much for some to resist. Edelstein is sitting solid with right around 65,000, while Dudani just scored a big double.

We picked up the action on a {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Spades} flop when Dudani checked from the big blind and the under-the-gun player did the same. The player on the button then bet 2,700, both his opponents called, and the {9-Hearts} appeared on the turn, a card all three checked.

When the {A-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Dudani led out for 4,200, the under-the-gun player folded, and the button eyed up Dudani's stack before moving all in. Dudani, who had about 20,000 total, didn't seem excited about it but shrugged before announcing, "Call."

"King high," the button sighed. Dudani then tabled the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for nines full of aces and the double.

Two Pair Timo Drops Some

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Timo Pfutzenreuter
Timo Pfutzenreuter

Timo Pfutzenreuter value bet two pair on the river but two pair turned out to be no good.

He was in the small blind and called pre flop raise - along with the big blind - from a player in the hijack. The flop spread {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Pfutzenreuter was the only player to check-call a 1,525 c-bet. Both remaining players checked the {j-Diamonds} turn before Pfutzenreuter led for 2,000 on the {8-Hearts} river.

The hijack called with {a-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a straight, beating out Pfutzenreuter's {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Kanit Believe the Call

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Mustapha Kunit
Mustapha Kunit

Mustapha Kanit has joined the Main Event shenanigans and found himself an incredibly difficult spot but found a great call to double to 85,000.

Around 37,000 had made it into the middle by the time the river had been dealt to leave a {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} board. Kanit was heads up and led for 13,500 out of a 23,675 stack. His opponent shoved on him and that sent the Italian pro into an epic tank.

After five minutes, his opponent said, "I wouldn't want to be you!"

Kanit smiled and thought for two more minutes, checking his holding on two occasions before he flicked in the call. Then he heard one of the most beautiful lines a player can hear in poker, "Good call."

Kanit opened {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} beating out his opponent's {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Shyam Will Settle for that

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

One has to be careful getting too tricky with pocket aces as it can cost you. Shyam Srinivasan took advantage of such a situation and saw his stack rise to 45,000.

A player limped from under the gun and picked up four players before the dealer produced a {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. The limper bet 700 before Srinivasan raised to 1,700. The other three players folded but the original limper called. Both players checked the {8-Spades} turn before Srinivasan snapped off a 2,500 bet on the river.

Srinivasan's {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a set was good enough to beat his opponent's aces.

Agresta Busts Lim in Large Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

We picked up the action on a {5-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop after the player in the small blind checked and Aaron Lim bet 1,300. Roy Agresta, who won the AU$500 + 50 Australian Poker Hall of Fame Event at the 2012 Aussie Millions for AU$16,000, flatted from the button, and then the small blind tossed in 2,500 intending to call. The mistake cost him though as the amount constituted a raised to 2,600.

That opened the door for Lim to make three-bet to 4,100, and then surprisingly Agresta four-bet to 10,500. The small blind quickly got out of the way, Lim called, and the {5-Hearts} paired the board on the turn. Lim checked, Agresta bet 13,000, and Lim thought for nearly 90 seconds before moving all in for roughly 5,000 more. Agresta called and Lim discovered the bad news.

Lim: {k-Spades}{4-Spades}
Agresta: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Lim had flopped a flush, but Agresta boated up to leave him drawing dead. The meaningless {A-Hearts} was put out on the river, and Lim made a beeline for the door while Agresta was pushed the robust pot.

Has Wu left Macau?

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Winfred Yu
Winfred Yu

Winfred Yu must think he's still in Macau as his table is offering up a lot of action. Yu has dropped back to 44,000 but is still in a good position.

A hand was just finishing up where a player doubled with aces versus the {4-Spades}{7-Spades} of an opponent. Wu informed PokerNews that the player with four-seven had three-bet, five-bet pre flop and jammed on a seven high flop.

Wu played a couple of small hands in a row and lost one, won one.

He raised to 550 from early position and was called by the small blind en route to a {4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. Wu's 850 c-bet was good to force a fold from his opponent.

The next hand Wu limped from under the gun and took a {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop with both blinds. The big blind bet 200 and Wu was the only caller. The {j-Spades}{2-Hearts} turn and river were checked down and the big blind opened {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and scooped the pot as Wu mucked.
