Limped Pots; Chin Gets Short

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Ilias Sagias remains the most active player at the table. Twice in a row he opened to 23,000 and found a caller each. The first hand was against Peter Costa, who flat-called on the button. They checked down the flop {10-Hearts}{A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Sagias then bet the {4-Hearts} turn for 37,000. Costa min-raised and enforced a fold, flashing {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a straight.

Then, Mostafa Haidary defended his big blind and check-folded to a continuation bet on the {3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop.

A five-way limped pot followed, only Andrian Chin didn't get involved. The flop {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop got checked through and Haidary bet the {7-Spades} turn for 29,000, flipping over the {7-Clubs} when everyone had folded.

Chin limped in from under the gun and Yuki Ko called from the small blind. On the flop {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, Costa bet 20,000 and both opponents folded. The Brit flashed a super-wrap.

Chin On The River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Andrian Chin
Andrian Chin

Roger Swolf limped in and Ilias Sagias raised to 30,000. It folded to Andrian Chin and he pushed in for around 95,000 total.

Swolf folded, but Sagias made the call.

Sagias: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Chin: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board rolled out {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Chin made a straight on the river to crack aces, double up and avoid elimination.

Costa Pushes Haidary All In

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Peter Costa looks over Mostafa Haidary
Peter Costa looks over Mostafa Haidary

Mostafa Haidary raised to 22,000 and Peter Costa called on the button to see a heads-up flop of {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Haidary continued for 35,000 and was called before firing a second bullet worth 60,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn. Costa checked his stack carefully and then cut out a tower of T-5,000 chips for a raise to more than 160,000.

That was more than what Haidary had left behind and resulted in a fold from the start-of-the-day chip leader.

Ko Climbs

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

In a limped pot battle of the blinds, Ilias Sagias led for 15,000 into an {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop.

Yuki Ko bumped it to 45,000 and Sagias called. The {8-Diamonds} turn got checked by both, but when the {3-Hearts} river fell and Sagias checked, Ko led out for 65,000.

Sagias tanked for two minutes and made the call, only to be shown Ko's {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades} full house. Sagias tossed his hand in the muck.

Swolf's Trips Not Good Enough

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Roger Swolf raised to 20,000 and was called by Ilias Sagias on the button as well as Peter Costa in the big blind. On the flop {4-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, Costa bet 25,000 and Swolf called, Sagias quickly folded. The {8-Diamonds} turn resulted in a second bet worth 35,000 by Costa and Swolf called before the Brit made it 40,000 to go on the {8-Clubs} river.

Swolf cut out a raise to 150,000 and Costa was struck for a moment. "Jacks full?" he asked his opponent, cut out the chips for the call and stood up to study the board and Swolf. Costa eventually called and it was a good one.

Swolf: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for trips eights
Costa: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a full house, sixes over eights.

Costa Extends Lead

Two hands between Peter Coats and Ilias Sagias ended up pretty much even before Sagias opened from the button to 32,000. Costa called in the big blind and checked the flop {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}. Sagias checked behind and then bet 31,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn when Costa had checked to him.

Costa called and both players checked the {6-Spades} river. The Brit showed {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the pair of kings indeed won the pot.

One hand later, Sagias raised to what looked like 30,000 and picked up two callers in Roger Swolf and Mostafa Haidary. The flop {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} saw Swolf with a bet of 30,000 and that scooped the pot without further resistance.

Haidary Doubles; Chin Shrinks

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Mostafa Haidary
Mostafa Haidary

Roger Swolf limped in and Mostafa Haidary potted it to 53,000.

Andrian Chin shoved in behind and after Swolf folded, Haidary made the call for his tournament life

Haidary: {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Chin: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The board rolled out {5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Haidary flopped a straight, held and doubled. Chin was left with just a few chips and his chair.

Andrian Chin Eliminated in 6th Place ($11,675)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Andrian Chin
Andrian Chin

Yuki Ko raised to 42,000 and Andrian Chin called all in for his last 18,000, Mostafa Haidary called in the big blind. On the flop {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Haidary bet the pot for 108,000 to isolate successfully.

Chin: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a pair of deuces and open-ended straight draw
Haidary: {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens, gutshot and flush draw

The {A-Hearts} on the turn improved Haidary to a flush, but Chin made a full house with the {A-Diamonds} river to triple up.

One hand later, Chin was all in again and Ko looked him up out of the big blind.

Chin: {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Ko: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}

On the flop {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, Ko took the lead with a pair of fours. The {10-Hearts} turn changed nothing for Chin, Ko had even picked up a flush draw as well. A blank {4-Spades} river sent Chin to the rail in 6th place and he picked up a payday of A$11,675.

Sagias Gets There

Ilias Sagias
Ilias Sagias

Ilias Sagias got it all in for his last 80,000 with the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} versus Yuki Ko's {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Ko smashed the {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Spades} flop, but Sagias got there on the {j-Hearts} turn, making a straight. The {5-Spades} river did not pair the board and Sagias doubled up.
