Brandes Pays Off van Hoof

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Jorryt van Hoof limped the small blind and Fabian Brandes inquired about his stack size as he was sitting right on the other side of the dealer. The Dutchman confirmed he had around 250k at the start of the hand and Brandes checked his option to see the {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. Both players checked and van Hoof then bet the {9-Clubs} turn for 17,000 and the {j-Spades} river for 19,000.

Brandes called both bets and mucked when van Hoof tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a set of queens.

Straight for van Hoof

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Jorryt van Hoof and Fabian Brandes invested 36,000 in a battle of the blinds to see a flop of {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs} on which the action went check, check. The {k-Hearts} fell on the turn and van Hoof check-called a bet worth 30,000 to see the {9-Clubs} on the river.

Now both checked once more and Brandes tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Spades} for trips kings while van Hoof held {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a straight to win the pot and essentially even out the stack sizes.

Straight for Kozlov

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Fabian Brandes limped in and Martin Kozlov did so from the small blind, Jorryt van Hoof checked his option in the big blind. They checked the {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and Kozlov was the only one to check-call a bet by van Hoof for 16,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn.

After the {9-Hearts} river, no betting action followed and Kozlov turned over {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a straight, van Hoof sighed and mucked the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.
