J-Prod Up to 30k Early

Josh "JJProdigy" Field and Phil Laak
Josh "JJProdigy" Field and Phil Laak
Josh "JJProdigy" Field opened with a 350 pre-flop raise and was called by an unknown opponent in the big blind. The flop came {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and the first action was passed to Field who fired a 450 bet; his opponent called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Field's opponent check-called a second bet, this time for 1,150. The river brought another seven ({7-Hearts}) and again, the action went check, bet (2,550), call.

At the showdown, Field tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for two pair, queens and sevens, and his opponent mucked. After the hand, Field stacked up just over 30,000 in chips.

Table Talk: Action Dan

Six players limped into a pot including Dan Harrington. Everyone checked the flop of {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The turn was the {8-Spades}. Everyone limped to the player in the cutoff, he picked up chips and was about to bet when Harrington said, "Don't do it."

The player bet anyway and everyone folded, including Harrington.

"You interupted the pace and tranquility of the table," joked Harrington.

Missing in Action

Both Gus Hansen and Patrik Antonius are scheduled to play today , but 82 minutes into the tournament, they are not at their seats.

"They're still playing tennis," said noted tournament director and Aussie Millions consultant Matt Savage.

In an interesting note, Hansen and Antonius were originally seated at the same table. Also there? Jen Tilly (before she busted), Erick Lindgren, Shaniac, Thay3r, and Hiroshi Shimamaura. Talk about tables of death.

Can't Stop the Beat

Strangely, about once every 10 minutes or so, the speakers set up in the Las Vegas Room come alive with a burst of loud music and they've stayed on for three or four seconds before someone comes and shuts them off.

It seems as though Crown has taken care of the issue, but for awhile there it was becoming a significant distraction to the players - especially those seated near the speakers.

Break

The tournament clock has been paused while the players go on their first 10-minute break of the day.
