Johan Verkuijl Eliminated in 14th Place (AU$1,890)

An interesting four-way pot developed that saw Johan Verkuijl, Jonathan Karamalikis, Richard Sara and Phillip Peters all take a flop of {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Verkuijl was all in before the flop, but Sara fired 20,000 on the flop and the other two players made the call.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Sara shoved his last 19,000 into the pot and again the other two players call.

The river lands the {2-Clubs} and the two remaining live players check it down.

Karamalikis shows {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for nothing but a busted flush draw. Peters has {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for top pair but Sara has {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for top two pair to take down a healthy side pot. Meanwhile Verkuijl flips {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for nothing but ambition and heads to the rail after an eventful hand in 14th place.

Luis Pampliega Eliminated in 15th Place (AU$1,890)

Luis Pampliega - 15th Place
Luis Pampliega - 15th Place
Luis Pampliega was so short stacked the he decided to push his last chips into the middle in the dark. Manny Stavropoulos re-raised and the rest of the table folded. Pampliega was happy enough seeing pocket threes but was in trouble against the pocket jacks of Stavropoulos. However it only got worse for Pampliega as the remaining two jacks also flopped giving Stavropoulos quads and a lock on the hand to send Pampliega to the rail.

Adam Monaghan = Bubble Boy

Finally the bubble has burst! Adam Monaghan had his few remaining chips into the middle and five other players made the call. The board was checked down as they looked to eliminate the short stack.

The board came {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Sam Youssef flipped {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair which was good enough to take down the pot as Monaghan's K-7 left him heading to the rail empty-handed.

Bubble Blues

It's been over an hour since we had our last elimination - the players are clearly very serious about making sure that their efforts today do not go unrewarded! There have not been any significant hands or changes in chip counts to report, but we anticipate the flood gates will open any moment now...

Play Slows

Play has slowed right down as the players are desperate to creep into the money. The blinds have just gone up which is sure to put even more pressure on the short stacks. Expect the bubble to burst sometime soon!
