"Let Him Have It"

Jeffrey Lisandro
Jeffrey Lisandro
Moments ago, Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul eliminated Jeff Lisandro from the tournament, but before it was made official the floor was called to the table to resolve a minor dispute between the players and the dealer.

Lisandro had all of his chips in the middle by the time the board read {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Saul and another opponent, Warwick Mirzikinian, were still involved in a live side-pot, which ended with a pot-sized bet from Saul that prompted Mirzikinian to get out of the way, leaving Saul and Lisandro left to table their cards and see the river.

Saul flipped his hand over first: {Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}. Lisandro took one look at Saul's cards and then another look at his own before he threw his hand face-down towards the dealer and said, "Let him have it" before he walked away from the table.

Fully aware of the Crown's anti-collusion tournament rule that all cards must be turned over when a player is all in and called, the dealer kept the cards safely under her hand while she tried to spot a floorperson to help out. All the while, Steve Zolotow and others at the table instructed the dealer to simply muck Lisandro's cards, deal the river and push the pot to Saul.

The dealer correctly waited for a floorperson to make a ruling and it was tournament director Danny McDonagh who eventually made the final decision that Lisandros cards would be turned over. Himself long gone from the table, Lisandro's cards were {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and he was drawing dead. The river card, though irrelevant, was the {Q-Spades}.
